said no one, ever.

God, I hate servebots. I hate them if they're North American. And I hate them even if they're full blown American.

At least Isner does that thing where he bounces the ball between his legs before he serves. Milos merely demonstrates the overuse of hair gel, a really bad shirt, and an oversized pair of feet.

Not to mention the fact that I went 2-3 yesterday playing favorites. Which just means I was really terrible in my attempts at picking winners. And, yes, I was.

I put money on a frenchie, which you should never do.
And I read Verdasco's win over Nadal as something other than an opportunity for a next-down letdown. I immediately regretted my decision.

And now I'm chasing. Berdych 5-1? frick it.

The last time Raonic enjoyed something was when the Dr. got rid of the umbilical cord. Since then, all business.

Isner has to hold the record for most sets that went to a tiebreak.

I fell asleep after the second set. What I saw was an abomination. Two great serves and poor returns =

He literally does. And I believe he had the record like two years ago, which is just crazy because he played four years at UGA.

To his credit, he also wins tiebreaks at a fairly solid clip, which makes him a dangerous opponent and a good guy to take a flyer on when he's a sizable dog against a top guy.

The flipside of that, though, is that he also gets beat by inferior players because the matches go to tiebreakers and when it gets to a tiebreaker fluky outcomes can happen....even when you're good at them.

He's on my fantasy tennis team, and this is a(n) (annoying) wrinkle I have to consider.*

*Yes, I play tennis. My brother and one of his friends came up with the idea, and we're now in year 2. It's just three of us but i'm sure we'll add players -- I mean owners -- in the coming years.

And thank you Berdy for ameliorating much of yesterday's damage. You're a good man. And Juan Monaco is a hack. A hack who plays hard, but a hack nonetheless.

"ha...ha...ha....HACHOOO!"

Excuse me. I just can't stop sneezing. All this damn chalk.

Kei Nishikor-255
Servebot USA +235

Gotta go Kei on this one.

Novak Djokovic -705
David Ferrer +570

Yeah, I can feel your look. But here's the thing:
1) Ferrer isn't completely washed up, but he's on the beach with a rising tide, and even when he was on the boardwalk of his career he couldn't beat the top guys in the sport. So he's gonna do it now? Nah, not buying it.

2) With Novak Djokovic, consider anything under 10-1 to be a steal, unless he's playing Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal in a match that matters.

As an aside, I was really beating myself for not taking Dolgo -- a player I like quite a bit -- against Djokovic at the facially unreasonable number of 16-1. Dolgo won the first set 7-6 and was up 3-1 and then 4-2 in the second.

Then Djoker broke back, eeked out the second set, and then kindly served Mr. Dolgopolov a warm and lightly buttered breadstick in the third set. Novak Djokovic is an all-time great player and he's in his absolute prime. I mean, if you're reading this post then that certainly isn't news to you, but it's a truth worth repeating.

Is that Serena -270 I see? Hold on, excuse me again......
....HAAAACHOOOOO!

This friend of mine claims that Raonic will win a major by 2017 and he even bet me $150 on it. I don't know what the deal is. I think maybe Raonic's sweet t-shirts are clouding his judgment or something.

The Isner-Mahut Wimbledon match in 2010 was one of the most unbelievable sport moments I ever witness live. It really felt like it never was going to end.

Really was a shame that they had to stop the final set for darkness and continue the next day. I really thought the winner was going to be the guy who DID NOT pass out from exhaustion!!

I know this will never happen, but tennis would be a lot more interesting if the whole match was similar to a tiebreaker rather than having service games. Some of these players are boring as hell.

She was hitting down the lines all game. Crazy good. I was rooting for Halep though.

In the senior's league for tennis, "the powershares series", they're experimenting with having the players call their own lines with unlimited challenges with hawkeye. Not a bad idea, really.

Roddick beat Mac 6-3 last night. Not really fair for a 32 year old guy to play a 56 year old guy, but you'd be surprised how competitive Mac can still play.

Isner burned me by beating Kei, but I'm thinking about going back in against him.

Novak at -525 against Isner? Sounds pretty delicious amirite?

Or does it? They played a month ago at Indian Wells and Novak won 6-4, 7-6, which leads me to believe that the Isner rules still apply, and that even the (arguably) best service returner in the history of the sport can't be counted on to break John Isner's serve.
