Ben Simmons is unfair, like a cheat code or something.

Yep...

He's that "point forward" type of player. He's great

You wish the LSU community would be a little quicker in finding out just how good he his. By all accounts he is thrilled to be coming to LSU and barring something completely unexpected, he is only going to be here for one year

First dunk, left hand. Second dunk, right hand.

He faked a bounce pass with his last dribble. Completely froze Brandon Ingram.

That's what it looked like. I hope Malik is running out there realizing he won't be playing with this sort of talent at MSU

Malik's team lost 95-64. With the way the sec is getting better, that may be something he needs to get used to if he goes to MSU

Has a good chance to make a tourney run @ LSU next year. Pretty much doesnt have a prayer of making the tournament at MSU they are so bad. All depends on what he wants those NBA scouts to see - hint, they pay attention big time come the NCAAT.

They pay more attention when you have the projected number 1 pick on your team.

Man, Blakeney is money from three when left wide open. He has such a pretty jumper. And Simmons, well, Simmons is just a frickin animal. Can't wait to get these guys on campus. If we somehow get Newman it will be like a college all-star lineup.

It's hard to believe all the people in this thread acting like Ben Simmons is an unknown here.

We all knew!!!

No, there is knowing that he's good and knowing just how good. Big difference.

He's more polished than just about anyone that's come out of HS since Lebron. Talent, size, athleticism (albeit not elite), skill level ... that combination doesn't show up every year. Barely every 5 years.

He's one of the few players that you don't have to scale back the love he's getting. It's warranted.

This. And when you actually go to see him play, you'll see he's even better than what you see on TV. That's what makes the great ones great.

You can read about LeBron and know he's good. You can watch him on TV and know he's really good. But just seeing them in person makes you fully realize just how great the great ones truly are

Last year in Dallas with E1T1... they are playing a PG, Blakeney, Shooter and a big man w/ him... yet every time the other team scored, he was the outlet to run the point and set things up. Didn't take me long to realize how special he was. That wasn't only reason but when great players defer to a player (mind you, everyone on that court is D1 Ohio St, Providence, LSU, etc) ... it tells you a lot.

One guy I had the pleasure of watching in high school a lot since my brother was friends with him was Marcus Smart, who's on the Celtics now. That right there is the definition of a guy you have to see in person to realize how good he is.

You really can't grasp how good some of these guys are until you see them on the court

When we watched him in Nola, I was utterly blown away with his composure and competitiveness. Also, his leadership. He literally would just demand excellence, constantly talking, never backing down. I know it sounds cliche and sorta dumb, but that's literally what I kept saying to myself. My favorite thing from that game were the Karr fans (fricking Speedy) chanting overrated, the refs allowing it to be played very rough, and he answered. For a quarter or so he was adjusting to the type of game which was being called, then second half he just took over. You don't see high schoolers, barely even college guys, make adjustments like I saw that game. He's a 25 year old elite player who just happens to be 18.
