It was shocking that he couldn't understand it. Then I remembered the rest of the stuff he's posted, so it made sense.

Have we had a JUCO player pan out since the days of John Brady?

I know that he has a pretty nice mid range jumper that should compliment our guard play pretty well.

yea he does. And he isn't overly big either for a post guy. I think people are expecting a banger. He's more finesse

Wasn't he only there 1 semester? I think the #5 spot will be a weakness, but we can still be a good team with that weakness. We'll have good size 1-4

I just think Simmons is more effective playing on the wing and handling the ball, but I have a feeling he might end up being forced into another role because of our lack of big men, which will suck

He was a successful role player a UK. Not really comparable at all

He couldn't get minutes for Kentucky, ergo he didn't play well. Not sure why we have to sugarcoat everything.

I don't think that will impact us much on offense to be honest. I see it is a Miami type situation

Edit: If Victor can stretch defenders with a good midrange shot, I think we'll be okay offensively with our slashers and Hornsby stretching us out

ya baw. He played in 73 games for UK. He was a contributor to a national title team and he averaged double figures his soph year. Sounds just like Craig Victor, who has played 57minutes and taken 13FG's in his college career.

Victor transferred midseason. You're completely missing the point. Wiltjer struggled at UK to get minutes because of the talent level there, doesn't make him not a good player, as he's GREAT at Gonzaga.

Victor was in a similar talent situation at Arizona. He was playing behind 2 NBA 1st round draft picks, a 3rd year starting center and 3rd year starting PF who are both very good in their own right. What kind of minutes do you expect him to play the first 10 games of the season going up against that kind of experience and talent? It's not like Victor was Ben Simmons coming out of high school.

Brady brought him in. Brady had some magic wand for picking out Juco players.

You can play the 4 and still get the ball on the wing... I actually find that better because you will likely have to be guarded by a bigger, less agile opponent.

I'm not missing the point, I'm just saying the comparison is terrible.

You could have did some research and found a less accomplished transfer

i realize that, Im just saying if he has to play the 4, that means one of these other guys doesn't step up. and will seemingly make us play small, which will affect the game in other ways. rebounding, on defense, etc.

Yeah our size is what will hurt us at one point in the tourney next year. Robinson needs to man the frick up. Malone has reached his potential

The comparison is being made in terms of playing behind talent/experience. Wiltjer had this exact problem at UK, it didn't make him a bad player. Victor was very much in a similar situation, being behind TWO NBA 1st round draft picks, a 7 foot 3rd year starter C and 6'9 3rd year PF who were both very good as well.

Victor was wowing everyone when he started practicing with out team. He would have gotten more minutes this year with us than he would have at Arizona easily.

Regardless if you want to argue stupid shite like this detracting from the point; you clearly did not grasp the talent/experience Victor was going up against at Arizona. It wasn't 1 or 2 guys, it was 4 guys, FOUR. Yes, believe it or not, it's tough as a true freshman to get minutes when you're going up against FOUR GUYS who are going to get minutes in front of you due to talent and experience. It doesn't mean you cant be a good player given the chance.

We already are terrible at this. I'll bet a lot money we give up less offensive boards next year than we did this year on average.

He played a lot, and played well. Again your comparison sucks.

I didn't say he could never be good dipshit. Im saying taper your expectations until he actually proves it. There was a reason he didnt play much at AZ. Yes, he was behind some good players. But he was expected to make a bigger impact, and wasn't able to. For a reason.

Wiltjer was SEC 6th Man of the Year before he left

well, we lost 2 of the top 3 rebounders in the SEC. Victor isn't as good of a rebounder as Mickey or Martin. So we'll see how we fare.
