Because there's nothing funny about the nature of his death. If a light had fallen on him as he's performing or or he got shot by the father of a boy he was getting frisky with, that would be darkly funny in a way.

Since his death 90% of the michael jackson jokes are still about him sticking his dick in toddlers, but his cause of death is off limits?

The world needs your moral compass applied to comedy sketch writing. you are cheating us all

why don't you guys enlighten me on what's funny about Paul Walker or Michael Jackson's death?

I thought the roast was great.
I thought Davidson making fun of his dad dying in 9/11 was terrible, but it's his dad, and if he wants to do that, so be it.
There would be nothing funny about Jeff Ross's joke about Davidsons dad dying had Davidson not opened himself up to it, and i still think you're a piece of shite for making fun of someone's death in front of people that were close to the deceased.

You don't find it funny that a guy that made most of his career earnings on movies about drag racing dies in a drag racing accident?

did they get the approval from the families of ISIS beheading victims to run those jokes?

Why would they remove a joke making fun of Bruce Jenner? They just chose weird lines to draw, its a roast. Either allow them all or don't do them.

There you go again, trying to be the arbiter of "too soon?"

People have made jokes about celebrities dieing forever. where it crosses the line of shock value and inappropriateness is for individuals to decide

I remember people make space shuttle jokes right after the one blew up when I was a little kid. It was like whoa, thats pretty fricked up. but kinda funny really

I understand that, and first of all, you've got problems if you find humor in making fun of someone dying in front of people that care about that person. You should have the brain that works well enough to realize there's somethings that are off limits. What's the point of making a joke that 0.0000001% of the world might laugh at. People make jokes about michael jackson all the time, but you rarely hear anyone joke about him dying, b/c no one would laugh at that and it's inappropriate.

maybe roasts aren't for you, or comedy for that matter

Somehow I knew you would be here to defend jokes about dead people.

Sorry, I just can't stand when people decide for others what is allowed to be funny or not. It's not just jokes about dead people that get cut from these things for being "inappropriate"

I certainly don't find it funny at all.. He wasn't the one driving either. How does irony in a tragic loss make it funny? I don't see it and I'm not even an anal person.

Any ways, will probably check this roast out soon.

I chalked it up to coincidence. I know enough about the definition of irony to know that I probably won't use the word correctly.

Ya know, like rain on your wedding day.

Wait a minute....actually that's not ironic at all. Maybe...making a song called Ironic and not having anything ironic in it IS the irony?

I'm sure you can find something funny to say about it, but what's the point? It's cruel and you're a piece of shite for saying it. You should have the common decency to respect the living that cared for him to not make fun of his death.

Can you find the humor in making fun of parents that have lost their kids to cancer?

I have had jokes pop up into my head about a friend from high school that committed suicide. I think they are funny, but i would never say them out loud b/c i know how hurtful it would be to the people that cared about him and were really shook up about his death.

and to the morons saying comedy isnt' for me, just shut the hell up.

So jokes about 9/11 and ISIS are ok?

I don't think anyone truly cares one way or the other about how tasteful or tasteless the jokes are. The issue is the hypocrisy from the network that seemingly mild jokes (like bruce jenner..really?) are cut and ones about a terrorist beheading group and a devastating US disaster are aired.

He should have had the common decency to respect the living that cared about him by not engaging in the reckless behavior that got him killed.

Tell me more about the parents.

Okay, good for you. You still aren't the arbiter for appropriateness.

I think it's pretty clear that the Roast format is not for you.

if no one laughs, how's it a joke?
over 99% of everyone on earth thinks it's inappropriate, so what's the point of saying it? Just b/c you can? B/c your edgy and innovative? b/c you're proving a point?

quote:

Okay, good for you. You still aren't the arbiter for appropriateness.

no i'm not, but when the vast majority of people think it's inappropriate, and you know it will hurt people by saying it, why would you say it?

There's a way to make jokes about 9/11, Katrina, Isis, etc as a whole, even though i still find it inappropriate i don't mind it, but it's a lot more personal and hurtful when you talk about an individuals death.
