And of those, over half are veterans not young players that came in the league since 2010. That was the point I was making. I am not saying the league is full of shite players just comparing today's players with the 80s.

Did you miss the part about a 400 game minimum (~ 5, full 82 game seasons)? With the lockout the earliest a player that hasn't missed a game could appear on the list is one who started in 2009-2010. And since they don't seem to include players that just crossed that threshold this season (Curry; Harden), it would be 2008-2009.

So there aren't any greats playing now because it only counts if they entered after 2010??

So the veterans who have built up HOF careers don't count and the young players that haven't entered their primes yet are the ones you are basing your theory off of?

Makes sense

No dumb arse that is not what I am saying. I am talking about the superstar players that are young players not Vince Carter that has been playing for 30yrs.

You guys win. Joakim Noah is a superstar, future HOF. He would have scored 50 a game in the 80s against all those soft offensive teams. Carry on with your stupidity.

I wanted to start my own thread about this, and still might one day. But it fits in this thread.

I watched an ole Bulls vs Pistons game. I realize people on the other side of this argument will roll their eyes at this, and probably not even believe me even though some of them watched this game live.

BUT, Jordan didn't do shite. Ok of course he did things, but it was honest to god the most ridiculous basketball I've ever seen in my life. I swear on everything I love that the Bulls would take the ball down the court, all stand 30 feet from the basket, and dish it to MJ. THERE WAS LITERALLY NOBODY TO HELP GUARD HIM. Nearly 10 times in a row he had the ball 15 feet from the basket with a fricking midget being the ONLY thing to keep him from scoring. 2 times a defender ran over to TRY to double him and they called illegal defense.

I know Jordan is the best ever. But frick me, that's how they played back then?! Lebron.....dear god, Lebron would have MURDERED in this style of basketball.

You're missing the point. If you look at any season, and look at the top 20-25 performing players, you will find some good/very good but not great players. A very good player hitting his absolute peak, will be a top 20 player for a season may be two, then regress back toward the mean. Sustaining it is also a hallmark of a great player.

Now your so keen on bashing Noah but look at his stats last year. He averaged 12.6 pts, 11.3 rebounds, 5.4, and 1.2 steals, and 1.5 blocks and was the defensive player of the year (6.6 defensive win shares). Those are very impressive stats in any era (5.4 assists really stands out). For comparison purposes, his 11.2 win shares is more than Robert Parish ever had (10.9) in a season. So after that type of career as year, it's pretty reasonable he was rated highly.

D Wade is the number 3 SG of all time? Come on...

Pump the breaks on KD, but he is def one of the best shooters ever.

Who's better? His career stats are almost identical to Kobe's (24/6/5 vs 25/5/5). Has 3 rings.

He's top 5 for sure

It's obviously early in his career but if he returns full strength from the injury and keeps going how he has been for 5 more years he will be way up there

West, Havelcek, Gervin, AI, the Big O (I think he's a PG, but he's probably a combo guy)

D Wade had a great run from 2005-2011

You're obviously setting up for some joke or point that blasts me or something. Go ahead, get it out of the way.

It was a Knicks team with Ewing. Figure the shite out yourself.

I'm not "setting you up"...Jordan wasn't in the league in 99.

Just so I have this straight...you were watching some old NBA game, had an epiphany, yet:

-You don't know year it was
-Didn't have the right team
-Don't know who was guarding Jordan

Thx for the info.

Nice, still completely avoiding the point of my post in order to make it and me look stupid. How cunning, what a clever guy you are!

It was the Knicks, I told you that after 1 post. "Info" on my TV said 1999. You told me he wasn't playing then, thanks, I was wrong. You can still figure out who was guarding him if it matters to you.
