He often did that VERY poorly.

No he didnt. Thats why he had a huge amount of tackles and tfls.

Exactly what I mentioned in my post. As athletic as he is, he just doesn't anticipate the snap well enough to put pressure on a QB. Not sure that can be coached.
Getting a faster get off at the snap can absolutely be coached.

Besides, with his long arms, he doesn't need to get as much of a head start as other people. If he got off at the same as an average player, he's going to get his hands on the OL sooner. Reach is a huge advantage when playing the egde.

Besides, what if he becomes a stand up LB? Or takes on a Khalil Mack like role? Not saying impact. Just that he can play on the strong side and really impact run defense.

73 tackles,1.5 sacks,and 13.5 tfls is far better than 30 tackles 11 sacks and 6tfls.

Blanket statements are fun.

First of all, tackles are one of the most fudged statistics in all of sports.

Second of all, not all tackles are valuable. If a player gets dragged 3 yards while not even attempting to strip the ball, he gets credit for a tackle but it was a bad football play.

Second of all, chances are if he gets 11 sacks, he's also creating a ton of hurries, therefore increasing the speed a QB needs to read a defense and increasing the chance they make a bad decision resulting in a turnover or non-scoring drive.

73 tackles,6pbu, 13.5 tfl,1.5 sacks is extremely productive when you take into account that our defense isnt on the field much because of our ball controlled offense. Our defensive players have less snaps to rack up stats because our TOP is huge on offense.

This is where I see him thriving, OLB in a 3-4.

Chavis and his idiotic "schemes" probably cost Hunter about $2M in guaranteed money.
