they could build a bad arse campus on LSUS grounds.

there isn't that much room

that area couldn't hold a campus of that size, even if they called the Indy Bowl the football stadium

And why couldn't a world class science and tech based school be located in Ruston? Does he realize how many colleges are in tiny arse towns?

exactly

Ruston is the best "college town" in the state

You're so cool on a message board man. Tech students consistently graduate students with least amount of debt and highest starting salaries in the state, but let me guess you don't do any research and prefer to look like a dumbass?

Lighten up Francis and get the sand out of your vagina.
Besides, if anyone looks like a dumbass, it is the person who said "I would of" rather than "I would have".

I don't think this guy realizes Tech has over 11,000 students compared to the 4,000 students LSUS has.

You could build a campus for 15,000 kids there IMO. Like I said, sporting facilities probably wouldn't work but school itself could.

Ruston would be in trouble if Tech and GSU pulled out.

But in order to do that, the article says to build a new campus. Why build a new campus? Which has better current facilities? Use that one.

I would imagine that would be LA Tech. Larger campus there already plus all the facilities for sports are already in place.

Trust me it's easier to bring 4,000 kids to Ruston than send 11,000 to Shreveport. There's plenty of room in Ruston to build whatever would be needed and trust me most kids would rather not live in Shreveport.

no way

you might be able to fit all the buildings needed, but what about dorms?

where would they park?

Ah, I guess it's the LSUHSC-S that's not in a great part?

If you look back at the other times this has been proposed to the legislature, it was always, close LSUS and move them to Ruston.

Of course but everyone knows politically this will never happen, regardless that they almost have a single digit percentage graduation rate.

Louisiana has a ridiculous number of colleges and universities for it's population.

But only one major public university (maybe you could sneak ULL in). Look at Mississippi. They've got Mississippi State, Ole' Miss, and Southern Miss (roughly ULL size). And Mississippi has roughly 1.5 MM less people than Louisiana!

Tech just upgraded pretty much all their facilities so I would tend to agree with you.

I support that

hell I'd support merging LSUS, Tech, NWST, Grambling and ULM and have one mega university to rival LSU

north LA vs south LA

After looking from google earth, you are probably right. There is alot of open land there but didn't think about dorms and such.

I can get down with the idea of combining all the Universities for the most part, but think realistically they would all have to come to Ruston for the logistics purposes. Doubt the schools of ULM and NW St. would ever go for that though.
