It would be huge for Shreveport if they merged Tech and LSUS and moved the campus to LSUS. Wouldn't mind but Tech grads may not like it.

No way UNO is going to get tax money from all those parishes especially STT. Besides that those are good options.

Is there some functional benefit to keeping it in Ruston?

But in order to do that, the article says to build a new campus. Why build a new campus? Which has better current facilities? Use that one.

been saying this for years. LA Tech would never do that. I mean they declined a freakin bowl bid, no way they would want to merge with a small NAIA school affiliated with tFlagship

Guy makes some solid points. The more people start talking about this the more mainstream it'll become and hopefully get done.

Aviation school and plenty of open areas for flying and I'd personally would live in Ruston over Shreveport any day. I hate Shreveport and would not of attended if located there.

I don't think so at all. But grads may like the tradition of the school staying there. I think it would be a huge overall win for everyone including Tech/LSUS students.

that campus couldn't handle all the students

That's exactly what he proposes. Which is dumb, imo.

Louisiana has a ridiculous number of colleges and universities for it's population.

The black schools should have been closed decades ago, among others.

You're so cool on a message board man. Tech students consistently graduate students with least amount of debt and highest starting salaries in the state, but let me guess you don't do any research and prefer to look like a dumbass?

With the potential savings and enrollments combined, they could build a bad arse campus on LSUS grounds. Not sure where you would fit in athletic fields, etc. but there is plenty of room for development. I am not saying it would ever happen or it's the best thing but I can say that Shreveport would benefit with no doubt in my mind.

Isn't it in the ghetto?

And why couldn't a world class science and tech based school be located in Ruston? Does he realize how many colleges are in tiny arse towns? Last I checked, South Bend, Indiana isn't some major metropolis.
