With the pelicans being a few games out of the 8th seed, do y'all believe Monty is coaching to save his job?

If the Pelican were to not make the playoffs again this season, I think it would be a great time for change. Demps can't buy the injury excuse anymore.

No playoffs = new head coach

He's been on the hot seat forever. I personally wanted him gone after snapping the Knicks losing streak, but that's just me.

Pretty sure Benson doesn't care what Clevelami fans think.

You think "no playoffs" is doubtful?

Most people said before the season that they wanted us in contention for a playoff spot to the end. We have had lots of injuries and are in that exact spot.

So, people want him fired for meeting their goals for the season...

Not really. Most said playoffs or bust.

And even still, we'll probably end up missing the playoffs because of that 4 game losing streak to Boston, Charlotte, Philly, and NY. That was unforgivable to me.

You made 2 quotes which both basically said the same thing, so I'm pretty sure that one's on you for making a super confusing post.

No, people want him fired for the inconsistent performance of the team. This team has shown it can beat any team in the league on any given night, but they will probably miss the playoffs by a game or 2 and have 13 losses against teams under .500. I think there is also a very legitimate question as to whether Ryan Anderson getting injured made Monty a "better coach". All defensive metrics since the All Star break continue to go up and up along with the winning percentage. Now some of that is obviously Cole and Pondexter, but how much is due to having an actual backup center playing backup center? Hopefully Monty changes Ryno's role when he comes back and we never have to find out.

Having competent D at the 3 is the bigger is difference. Ryno will never be an average defender at any position. Having multiple minus defenders is going to make any defense struggle.

If you had to choose only one, do you think defense got better because:

A) Addition of Pondexter and Cole
B) Subtraction of Ryan Anderson

I'm really surprised he was able to pick this nugget out from all the rampant homophobia and racism on this board.
