I'll be interested to see if the fan base still likes this when players are getting dragged 3 extra yards every play, trying to knock the ball out.

HA! Yeah, you know I'll do the board a favor by not posting THE Marshawn Lynch beast-mode run here again, but well.... yeah

This conundrum is always interesting to me, defenses that play for turnovers are almost always hyper aggressive, high yardage types that are vulnerable deep.

Pressure creates bad decisions, bad decisions turn into turnovers.

Byrd, assuming he still has the athleticism, can mitigate some of those risks though. The guy is one of the best deep ball safeties in the NFL.

Worked during the superbowl run for sure, but generally we haven't had the athletes on the defensive side to do that successfully in the Brees/Payton era.

edt: I also noticed he played some safety in HS so he could contribute to ST. IDK if he played any ST at Georgia or not.

Not very well.

I'm not sure about ST at Georgia. He returned some kicks in HS and looked pretty good at times.

The saints spent some time with Conley at his proday, so there is definite interest.

Someone debunked that story by pointing out there is a Saturday night curfew before games.

Can't say that I've ever seen players out the night before a game, but I have seen some out plenty of times on Friday night before a Sunday game. Whether or not being out on Friday night is a big deal, I don't know.

For a defense that missed a sickening anount of tackles last season, maybe they should focus instead on embarking on Operation: frickING TACKLE!
