No question. Hamlin comes across as this extremely arrogant, self-important douche, which he most definitely is. But when it's revealed at the end why he's been so hard on Jimmy, it makes you realize that he wasn't quite as bad of a guy as it seemed. Then there was the way that he felt bad about chewing out Kim; it really humanized him, and made me not dislike him so much. I think he realizes what a badass lawyer Jimmy really is, and how much of an asset he could be to HHM.

let's go back to the original rejection scene in the mail room. he was the soldier following orders from chuck. he wasn't being a douche

basically all of the bastard shite he's had to do was at chuck's demand

and the billboard shite was jimmy's fault, and hamlin still doesn't seem to hold a grudge

Good points, but "Hamlindigo Blue" is super douchey in any context.

No. Big firm lawyers are some of the most arrogant wankers on the planet.

Firms like HHM would never in a million years have an American Samoa grad on their team no matter how good. Big law firms are asking for class rank when someone is 20 years out of school. It's the douchebag society.

Not even then. Just can't see it. They are consumed by their snobbery and education.

nepotism, greed and PR from settling a giant class action may trump that

Could be right, but my opinion is still no.

Maybe in NM, but not in a big city.

I'm mainly talking about the firm in BCS.

However, I have friends that work for McDermott Will and Emery here in DC and nepotism is a big problem. I imagine MWE is larger than HHM

Check their roster. See if there are any lower tier law schools represented.

A small city like ABQ will have lots of UNM grads in the bigger firms. In NY, DC, etc. an American Samoa grad never gets in.

Surely there's another decent law firm around his neck of the woods that would take him on as a partner with a class action case that huge, instead of settling on the referral contract with HHM why not join a rival firm?

I thought of that too, why not just take the case to another firm? I guess because that wouldn't move the show's plot forward.

I mean, he has no idea yet that Chuck is against him. Its the principal. why would he even consider going anywhere besides where his brother is a partner

Which makes what chuck is doing all the more sickening. If he would shoot jimmy straight he could absolutely take the case to another firm and get a serious start as a respectable attorney. Its exactly the break he needs

Huh? I'm talking about after he discovered Chuck's phone call to Hamlin. He told Chuck he would accept the deal after he discovered Chuck was the one pushing Hamlin's buttons; I don't understand why he wouldn't have just gone to a rival firm instead.

I don't think he wants to battle against forever. Him taking the deal, giving Chuck this case, is like closing a loose end. If he kept this case and went elsewhere, the case would constantly remind him of Chuck and what Chuck did to him.

Him giving the case to HHM is recognizing that this isn't an HHM problem, and it also cuts his ties with Chuck.

frick Chuck for what he did to Jimmy.

I was big fan of Breaking Bad, but skeptical the character Saul Goodman could carry a series. I'll happily admit I was wrong and think Bob Odenkirk is a much better actor than I imagined.

His final scene with Chuck was absolutely heartbreaking and showed a vulnerability I didn't think Slippin' Jimmy could pull off.

I was so glad to hear him say, "I got you a 20 pound bag of ice, some propane, eggs and milk. I'm done." (paraphrase)

At least he could have some hand.

I wonder if Chuck will require Jimmy to change his name as part of the deal if he is going to continue practicing law in the same city.
