The Church shouldn't support matters of science, that's outside of their scope. Science admits that matters of the supernatural are untestable and therefore outside the scope of science. The issues are completely separate and only fools argue for either "side".

Atheistic Darwinist creationism is the evolutionary view that all life we observe today is the result of only random/chance, mindless, meaningless, purposeless and goalless naturalistic mechanisms acting on an alleged single life form from long long ago.

This is not correct.

Evolution is a process by which random mutations in each generation (not just the first one) are either preserved or extinguished depending on whether those mutations help or hinder survival. BTW, this isn't just for living beings, the idea works for basically any multigenerational process, for example, machine learning, the evolution of moral rules, etc.

No. It should be their choice, it should be an act of faith accepting Christ as their savior. It has nothing to do with you believing in evolution.

Why? Are you afraid your child will not grow horns or something?

Baptism isn't gonna save someone from hell if they believe in evolution.

It depends. If said person is, for example, a buddhist, then I am going to say no.

The idea of baptism came from the belief in sin, original sin, it was decided that a blessing of water would ensure forgiveness of this pesky sin.

So God, in all of His perfection and infinite intelligence, said "They are so hung up on this guilt and condemnation thing, that I'll get them to throw water on each other, and that will cancel out the sin. They will buy this for thousands of years"

Forgiveness is not saying "You are a no good sinner, but since I am so wonderful, I forgive you"

True forgiveness is the awareness that there is nothing to forgive. This earthly experience is simply a lapse into an ego dream. Nothing to see here, nothing Real here, just a dream that lasted an instant, it was not even noticed in Heaven.

I'm a Christian who believes in evolution. They are not mutually exclusive. It's pretty cool to me, watching God's creation in motion.

Original Sin is thinking you can be God/don't need God (Adam and Eve committed Original Sin). Baptism has nothing to do with this, but is often confused to be.

Edit: Grace washes away sin, not baptism.

Just out of curiosity of the Catholic perspective, if my kid dies at age 5 and hasn't been baptized, is she going to hell? I'm baptist, but curious about the Catholic's take on this.

It appears that there is no official position on this other than "We dunno, God will decide what He wants to do".
