I remember thinking after the 2011 Gold Cup that I was certain Adu would come back to MLS and be a stud.

His issues are ego and work ethic, it seems. He shows flashes of the potential he had when he was a teen from time to time (the 2011 GC being a great example) but he can't seem to get his shite together. He could have been the #10 the US needs so badly, but I don't think it will ever be the case.
