Take my hurricane food, tent, guns/ammo, fishing supplies, and camping pack to a clear water stream. Hunt/fish for my proteins. Buy 200lbs of long grain white rice for 300 calories of pure carbs each day at $100. Proteins from hunting/fishing will supply my needed fats/protein. $64 to buy 100lbs of beans in case I go days without shooting or catching anything.
$336 left over for necessities along the way

what's the nearest clearwater stream? You have to use gas to get there first..then either pay for a campsite, which usually have limits, or go in the woods, possibly on someone elses land.
I don't think it's as easy as people think.
I would probably make my way to san francisco..lots of parks and amenities for the homeless, and good weather.

Pretty sure I could do it, first thing I would do, is buy some rabbits and some chickens, and let them do what they do. There are lots of wild plants in The South(queen ann's lace, is wild carrot, morning glory is a wild potato plant, wild onions and garlic have a strong taste, but are really edible) that can be eaten. You can make snares out of strong string,that will really work. Bird traps can be made very easily also, with a few sticks of wood.
Summertime there are wild blackberries,plums,all kinds of food,can also buy some seeds and grow stuff.
