Are groups like Best Buy's Gamers Club, worth it?

I know Game Stop does similar things.

Now that it's $30, yes. It doesn't take long to make that money back if you buy new games. They will also regularly send you $5 coupons to get you to spend money. It worked out perfect for me since they sent it to me right before Bloodborne.

It's worth it if you buy enough new games to justify the $30 cost. For me, it's not worth it since I tend to by games 1 - 2 years after release.

Worth noting that you need to purchase 3 full priced games in order to make money off the purchase.

Which doesn't even include the benefit of trade in bonus

It's an awesome deal, I have saved so much money with Gamers Club.

My gamers club card is still sitting on my desk next to me. The idiots at my best buy didn't have any clue how to activate it and they didn't even know what Gamers club was. I haven't bought any new games since so figured I would wait until that time to go through the horrible process again. Make it redeemable online!

It took me forever to get mine done too. It may have automatically activated if you bought it on your account. That might be what the issue was with mine.
Best buy is so bad. I'm ready for Amazon to counter with their own club

I hate GameStop employees who harass you over not buying a Power Up Rewards card.

Ugh, i just googled "gamers club unlocked online activation" and all that it pulled up were people bitching about how horrible it is to activate in the stores...
Posted on 3/27/15 at 10:39 am to flyAU
It took about an hour by the way

guess the best buy I got mine at is an exception. took like 5 min to activate at the counter when I was checking out.
the card still said $99 on the front, but that didn't throw the guy off.

Is bloodborne worth that hour?

You need to activate it eventually. Try purchasing online and see if it discounts automatically before you check out. It may already be activated.

The Gamestop Power Up Card has definitely saved me money. Its only 15.00 bucks and you get Game Informer. I buy/trade in 1-2 games a month so the savings and reward points add up. They also have some decent coupons and steals of the week they send out. The Gamestop I shop at lets me combine deals and get some great discounts.
