Did you just make a HIMYM reference? Dude...we could be friends but also we are in the same age group and if I would be heading back for that game and not staying with my folks, I'd probably stay at L'Auberge.

Crown Plaza it's getting old but also has a shuttle bus system there. Get drunk as you want catch the bus back.

Essen is a good area, but if you're looking for nightlife, stay downtown. 3rd Street is where all the bars are.

It should be one hell of a game. I'm excepting revenge for that embarrassment last year.

I actually checked them out as well. seems they are already booked up that weekend.

The Indigo and Hilton both look great. I'm assuming that is where the major nightlife is, or at least around there? I wouldn't mind either of those, but it will be hard to sell some of our group on more than doubling the price just to get a little closer.

Thanks for the help everybody. I look forward to forgetting a lot about your campus and city due to liquid memory wipes.

Your hangover game day morning will disappear once you get on campus and taste some jamabalaya, shrimp creole, gumbo, boudin, crabmeat au gratin, blackened redfish, shrimp remoulade, BBQ brisket, deer sausage etc....

Also, it's a September game so it will be hot as motherfricking balls. Definitely bring a change of clothes for after the game if you plan on going out and have a place to keep them. Hopefully it doesn't stiff dew everywhere this year.

Last year Uber multiplier got up as high as 8x after games. From the bars downtown to your hotel on Essen at 1x is about a $20 cab ride.

The bars are walking distance from those downtown hotels, but it's not totally necessary. The toughest part would be getting to the bars from the game. Most cabs aren't even allowed near campus.

I'd recommend staying closer, you could end up paying the diff of one night on a one way uber ride. I'd spend a lil more per night to stay closer, may not even be that much more, but you looking at uber hikes at 5-6x on a $10 ride. And the cab system in br is total shite.

Hilton, indigo or Hampton in downtown. I'd even rather stay on college or Acadian. Let's say someone gets a lil too drunk and wants to call it a night early, you will be paying out the arse to get people back to the hotel.

Uber multiplier was at 5.7 on st Patrick's day, not all day, but that's pretty ridiculous.

Yea, that's pretty crazy. Definitely makes up for the $150 difference in price, especially if it as a shuttle to campus.

College Dr./constitution dr
Like someone else mentioned has a few hotels, would be a little cheaper than downtown and an easier drive or taxi to the nightlife

There's 5-10 hotel options in the Constitution/College Dr area & it's somewhat close to campus it's just a huge cluster frick 24/7.

I'd pay the extra money and stay downtown or L'Auberge. I can't imagine having a fun time staying on Essen

Stay downtown, you seem to have the right attitude and will be the type of visiting fan that leaves with a great experience. Don't forget to grab a 200 mL of your favorite spirits to take in, the headache of all day drinking and abruptly stopping to go in can be paralyzing.
