2015 Auburn-LSU game - First trip to BR

Morning guys. I come in peace.
I'm going to be making my first trip down to BR for this year's game, and having never been, was wondering if I could get some input on good hotels to stay at. I've been eyeing the Drury Inn on Essen Park ave, but not sure what that area is like. It has gotten good reviews and seems pretty close to everything. Any suggestions are welcome.
Looking forward to finally making this long overdue trip.

I'd check L'Auberge Casino. Would make for a really awesome stay and they have a shuttle system to get you to game.

First question is how old are you and the group your staying with (are you a family group, College aged, looking for nightlife afterward....???)
The area is safe but busy and the only thing in walking distance from that hotel is the OLOL hospital. The hotel is great.... it has an indoor pool and offers nightly free cocktails but that's about the extent.
I would suggest staying downtown at The Hilton or Indigo and taking a shuttle to the game. Plenty to do after the game downtown on third street.

We are all late 20's, so definitely looking for night life.

Good to know. With it being right by the interstate, we'd probably end up taking Uber everywhere or driving if needed. After the game we probably won't even go back to the hotel, so I'm not terribly worried if it is not right by the nightlife.

I'll definitely check those out. Thanks

I'd try and get closer to campus

That's not near anything. Stay downtown somewhere or if you want to stay near the interstate, look at places on College Dr or Acadian.

This is solid advice for a group your age. Uber can be very expensive on game weekends. Spend the money on a downtown hotel instead.
There are other hotels dowtown too. Hampton Inn & a new Holiday inn will be open by then too. Just don't stay at the downtown casino hotel.

I stay at the Drury Inn 3-4 times a season. Nice hotel, very clean and well run, close to LSU. Good choice.

Stay at Lauberge, Renaissance, or downtown (Hilton, Hotel Indigo, Hampton, & they're soon to open a Holiday Inn)

I stay at the Double Tree on Consttution when we go to the Football games. The hotel is nice, and its easy to get on I-10 from there. I would receommend that hotel.

Ah yes, the one day every two years when yelling "tiger bait" feels really weird.

Just think of it as socially acceptable cannibalism
