Nobody cares how the mother considered her unborn child. Chances are she thought it was just a parasite. Maybe a large tapeworm. She probably thanked the woman who cut open her stomach. If this goes on long enough (with lawyers involved) I'd say it's fairly likely that she will be forced to pay this other woman for the medical procedure that was performed for her.

I don't support abortion, personally. I support the right to choose if you would like to have an abortion.
Posted on 3/27/15 at 7:37 am to TigerHam85
So do you think abortion is murder?

At least I now know that you are trolling.

You should think about channeling this level of perception to something productive. You could probably solve some mysteries of the universe or something. Don't waste it here.

So if it took just one breath outside the womb, it's murder?
Based on the decision not to charge with murder, I guess not. The statute is ambiguous:
quote:
prosecutors will have to determine the length of time the baby was living outside the womb. But state law doesn’t make a precise determination on what length of time prosecutors must find. “It’s not a defined time,”
Personally I believe that a jury would've convicted but her defense would have room to appeal. It's a stupidly written law.

What kind of jail time could she serve if charged with attempted murder of the mother?
Could they charge her with that?
Could they charge her with that?

I think if one is stable mentally and able to make conscious decisions, they should have the right to abort a pregnancy.

I do.
I have.

8-24 years just for that. I'm sure she'll face a slew of related charges, too.

But do you believe abortion is murder? That's the question I asked.
Posted on 3/27/15 at 7:44 am to lsunurse
I believe it is a fetus until it is born.

Those who are prochoice and upset over this.....so if you wanted the baby it's now considered a life? Don't want the baby and abort it's the mom's right and not a life? Is that how it works?
I think how it works is when someone attacks a pregnant women, cuts a hole in her stomach and removes her baby from her body, then she knows that someone just murdered her baby.

...just a mass of living, growing tissue comprised of human, living, growing cells that is currently contained within a wall of life-giving flesh, that cannot survive without sustainance from another living being, much like all of societal children, grandparents, hospital patients, etc.

. Colorado state law does not recognize a fetus as a person, unless it is capable of surviving for a period of time outside the womb, a prosecutor said then.
Yet if I had some bald eagle eggs and scrambled them for breakfast not only would I be arrested, but I'd have to pay a pretty large fine
