Heard Ben Love on 103.7fm radio this morning. He stated that JJ has had to replace 1 coach at the end of each of his 3 years. According to Ben; all 3 have been the "x and o" coach on the staff. Interesting if true.

That's just the way coaching is. We replace guys all the time in football too.

So 1 out of 3 is most? What other assistants left Johnny Jones for a head job?

Lol... Ben has to be playing to the narrative of the fan base No way Korey McCray and Robert Kirby are considered x and o guys.

Is Josh Gray serving multiple roles on the team?

You might want to re-read his post.

Exactly Kirby and McCray were considered "recruiting" hires, not necessarily basketball tacticians. Musselman was the only guy who was definitely considered to be a "x's & o's" coach. Everyone, including Jones, knew that he wanted to get back to being a HC and that he would not be at LSU long. The local media's insight and coverage of LSU basketball is laughable, at best. You get much better information here than you do from the paid retards in print/radio.
It's a good thing when other programs are hiring away your assistants. It generally means that you have good assistants. I'm very vocal about my criticisms of Jones, but his hiring of assistant coaches has not been one of them.

When your assistant coaches are leaving for head coaching gigs and promotions elsewhere it is a sign of a healthy program. I love my Tigers, but I hate our fans so much.

I'm pretty certain that Musselman got hired at Nevada based off of his NBA coaching experience, and not his one season as an assistant to Johnny Jones.

I doubt Musselman gets hired if he's sitting on a couch this season. His year at LSU at the very least got him back into the college game at a high level.

Um hell no. McCray was never considered an x and o coach
