Tissot is a reputable Swiss watch manufacturer that uses quality materials, sapphire, etc. They use ETA movements that are true workhorses. Great watch in that price range depending on model of course. I'd buy and wear with confidence. My most worn daily watches float between a Marathon GSAR, Tissot Seastar, and a Steinhart GMT. Great every day wear timepieces.

What would you recommend between these two? Submariner or a Seamaster?

Omega or Tudor

Watches are jewelry for girls who like to wear pretty things. Real men collect pez dispensers.

Big difference in price.

If price doesn't matter then go with Submariner...

It's for an upcoming graduation gift. Price doesn't really matter. I'm just looking for the best quality watch. Is Rolex that much better than Omega (justifying an extra $1,500)? I'm wanting to give a gift that'll last forever and won't lose much of its value.

I have quite a few watches and find myself wearing my Tissot watches more than the others. I have the T-Race, the Touch and the Navigator. For the price, they are a VERY good choice.

Get him an Explorer (39mm) instead.

I had both, sold the rolex in the 80's, bought the omega mars watch x33 in 2002 or so, but no longer wear it.

both over priced. got the rolex for a bargain 218.00 in 1972.

worth?! value?! your taste versus who else?
you may love it, they may hate it.

buy 'em what you like and hope for the best

This!

The Rolex will, at least, hold more of its value...

And it's a great "special moments" watch, so it should work well as a graduation gift.

That is largely dependent on the exact model between a Rolex or an Omega. No practical difference in the basic Submariners or Seamasters, you can get back what you pay if you are smart enough not to pay retail for either.

I prefer the Seamaster over the Submariner.

Nice. Take a look at the seastar too.

I prefer the non chrono model though.

I have this Tissot. Have received several compliments while wearing it. Installing a different leather band really improved the wear of the watch (it is a thick case).
