After your generation/class, the greeks dropped of hard. Especially in basketball.

There were some decent Greek teams while I was there, but our team was kind of a perfect storm. We just had a group that playedin high school at some good high schools across the state and just knew how to play.

I'd be shocked if non-greeks didn't have just as many alcohol related ER visits as greeks did. However, when it happens to a greek, they have a group/club/whatever to pin blame on...

Just seeing this thread. I was in a large fraternity at LSU about 20 years ago and hell week sucked, but we did not do anything like this.

Yeah, something's different now, and it's not good. It's a manifestation of something I've heard teachers comment about, that kids no longer are able to discern where the line is and not go over it.

Hah Yep. Dude was animal on the football field.

He could ball as well. Our sophomore year, me him and another guy played together in this 3v3 Basketball tournament at the rec put on by Quaker State. Ended up winning the thing and got a hotel/trip to Atlanta paid for to go play against the winners of other sec schools. Fun times. Dame I miss college.

ETA: I like this thread hijack a lot more than the actual thread

Being in a fraternity is just like playing a four year long game of tummy sticks.

still no answer...you're only saying that people want to talk about it because they want to talk about

That is the answer. People discuss this because it is in the news. They also discuss everything, newsworthy or not.

Your becoming emotional and suggesting they not speak of it unless they were/are Greek is both pointless and uncharacteristic.

Higher standard and whatnot.

It's a shame. Hopefully this type of shite only happens at a few fraternities. Hell week should be difficult (it's the one last test), but not dangerous or outright disgusting behavior.......

boosiebadazz - you are telling me to grow up. You need to take a look at yourself and how pathetic your life is. You have almost 50,000 posts on here. That obviously means you have NO life or NO friends and are a pathetic loser.

nah, that's because I work a cushy arse job

I was Greek and I was once a young fool, too- though not as arrogant as you are.

You'll mature eventually... or you'll continue to be a toolbag and be the one people point to to tell younger dudes "hey, don't be a douchebag like him"

There's hope for you if you're under 25. If you're over 25, you're a lost cause.

But what if I am exactly 25? What does that mean. I need advice for that scenario. Thank you in advance.

There's an outside chance, but I've got to be honest, it's not looking too promising right now.
