Best credit card in terms of travel rewards

Kind of a spin off of my last thread.
I'm trying to get my travel on the next few years. Never been a big credit card guy, just use my debit card for everything. What card have yall found to have the best rewards? Would like to earn enough rewards to pay for round trip flight for two to Europe in the next few years.
I'm not trying to pay an annual fee though.
I have good credit so not worried about not being approved for a card.

Are you loyal to a specific airline? You're not gonna find a good travel awards card without an annual fee
The Chase Sapphire Preferred will be your best bet since you can transfer the miles to different airline partners, especially since you're talking about international partners

The Arrival is better overall since you get 2 miles for every dollar spent. Also you get 10% of your miles back when you redeem.
The advantage of the Sapphire Preferred is that you can transfer the points to many airline partners

Chase Sapphire only gives double points at restaurants and hotels. Barclay Arrival Card is the answer as it gives double points on everything.

Sapphire also has a bunch of other features, like travel insurance, which is pretty awesome.

There's a big thread on the money board about this. I think the consensus is to get the Chase Sapphire and Freedom cards. Not only are the bonuses good but every point is a 1:1 trade off with their partners.

maybe i should have specified the arrival plus card, or whichever one has the yearly fee. i think they have a free one that only gets 1x points.
the other barclay has a comparable yearly fee (maybe less), 40k bonus miles, 2x points on everything, and also gets 10% back. the part that i like is that you can redeem your points on any travel expense (any airline ticket, rental car, hotel, etc), not just an airline ticket.
i must be missing something because the arrival card still sounds slightly better. never understood why everyone humps the sapphire.

Amex Gold Premier Rewards or
Chase Sapphire.
Both have a fee. Amex is $0 for the first year and $175 after.

Really depends where you live. I live in Georgia, whose premier Airline is Delta, so I use a Platinum Delta AMEX. I figure if you are in Dallas area, the Citi AA would be good.

1) If you travel frequently or if you travel for fun
2) If you have an airline preference
3) What airlines service your area
If you don't travel often, a generic card like the Chase Sapphire is redeemable on most airlines but you don't build status with any particular airline.
