I will always and forever hate Stern for Vetoing that trade.
I always have disliked MD anyway, so this just made it more so. I can't stand to watch a team score 140 points every night, only to give up 150.
The Nash trade looked ok, while giving up a lot, who would have guessed he would only play 60 games in three years.
Not bringing back Phil was the dumbest decision of all time.

Didn't Jeannie buss say tanking is unforgivable and the lakers would never stoop to that level?

frick David Stern and Dan Gilbert.
Yeah, I wasnt pissed at the Nash trade at the time but looking back, it was such a horrible deal. It should've never had to have been made though.
I was just flabbergasted when I heard they picked MDA over Phil. That team needed to slow the game down, use their twin towers in the triangle with Kobe as facilitator and Nash as the 3pt specialist. Just an absurd decision to pass on Phil for a coach that wants to run all game with a bunch of guys in their mid 30's.

Some guy at worked asked me about it when the rumors started and I laughed at him. I said there is no way they are that incompetent.
Boy was I wrong.

Boozer has been a net negative player both offensively and defensively this season, per Basketball Reference, but his inactivity is another signal that the Lakers are ready to tank in earnest over their final 12 games.
Quality take right here.

They've been tanking for a couple of months now. This is nothing new, they've been treating their lineup like musical chairs for some time now.

Same here. One of my buddies was laughing at the notion that the Lakers were "deciding" between PJax and MDA. I told him it was just bullshite being drummed up by ESPN/Broussard. I lol'd then showed him this gif and told him it pretty much summed up the situation.
