I'm headed overseas in a couple of months and I can pack everything I need into a carry on. So I am thinking of bringing my second suitcase to bring back beer/wine and curious if this would pass through customs.

you can bring back as much as you like. But you only get $800 worth of goods and one bottle of booze tax free.
Items over 100 years old and works of art are exempt from tax as well.

I think your allowed 1 container of 750 ml alcohol without being taxed. You will have to declare all alcohol though. And you have to declare if your brings in more than 10,000 dollars but it won't be taxed.

Looking at bringing 6-10 bottles back

Depends on the purpose of the goods. Commercial or personal or what.

That's just cash. If you bring back more than $800 of goods you can be taxed on the amount over $800.

Better hope you find a CBP agent in a good mood.

Just declare it and be prepared to pay $$$$. Alcohol is an extremely protected commodity. Countries are constantly sueing each other over that. Did a case study in college on the U.S. during Japan for like 700 million because of freaky taxes.

Not good since I planned on bringing at least 4 back from Cantillon, what is the cost to ship from Brussels?

Might be simpler just in general. Last time we shipped anything, it was like 50-100 for 12 cups.

I may just ship using my fedex account from my phone... not sure what it may cost going through customs
