Since 2007 the old theater by the mall of Louisiana has looked lonely and forgotten. We have a vision for this place. We hope to have one big Hard Wood floor with a stage, a nice dark cherry wood Bar, 10 pool tables on each the left and right side. A nice new paint job!! Concert show times where the movies from 1996 to 2007 once showed...and of course CAJUN SALOON in lights where Tinsel Town Remains..

someone just sent me a link ... they seem like earnest people and obviously i applaud anybody that takes a chance on this kind of project. But I'm sure people will make fun of the name, bag on their layout/beer/bookings etc. Will be interesting to see what develops when it opens just after the Olympics in Tokyo.

Isn't that a ghost town?

I hope they actually do this. Something needs to be done with that old theatre and I hate where the Texas club is at.
I'm not holding my breath for something coming in 2020 though.

One of the guys involved hit me up about doing some booking and / or promotional help for them when the time comes. Seems serious. I mainly work in hip hop but I told him Id plug him into the right people for his genre and help where I could. Definitely seems passionate about it.

Motorboat.. That timeframe seemed odd to me as well haha.
I was thinking ummm alright I guess I'll be waiting for that phone call for some contacts for awhile then.

I always thought that would make a good large theater. They can probably get 2000-2500 people in there depending on the setup. New Orleans doesn't have anything that size so they wouldn't really be competing. I heard that building was in bad shape though and more cost effective to just tear down.

Possible location for ?#?cajunsaloon? just needs some good love and a few movie walls knocked out to make one big room, a different color display on the outside !

yden Hebert Yes sir! Class not trash, for examples try looking a cowboys in San Antonio, or billy bobs in Fort Worth. My idea and concept I want to see happen in 2020 but no later than 2025.

I'm confused. There's no shuttered movie theater near the Mall of Louisiana. There is one by the Mall at Cortana. Tinsletown is a shuttered movie theater on Siegan. Is this going into Tinsletown at Siegan or the Broadmoor on Florida by Cortana?

I assumed based on the name. Good to see something happening with that property. Tinseltown was easily my favorite movie theater as a kid. It made me sad when they closed it. Perkins Rowe sucks by comparison.

I'll go ahead and add this one:
Sorry but the braintrust behind this idea is a little scattered. He wants an indoor rodeo, dance hall, pool room, wrap around balcony for VIP seats. Hell, why not throw in a skate rink?
