So I got the bad news. We went over 1,227 sq feet.
The bottom line overage cost with labor included that would be charged to us by the contractor is $4,225.

Is this decent?
3.44/sq ft

He's probaby paying $2.75 ish and charged you cost plus. Pretty fair and standard in home building. On something like that I typically don't charge cost plus but Im too nice of a guy and don't make what I should on Customs. Hence why I avoid doing them.

Yeah man the garage is behind house, side loading. There's a 100 foot stretch just to approach the garage.
We made it wider to be able to drive 2 cars side by side. Also added extra patio and sidewalks behind house and garage.
