Good actually. I've added about 10lbs of muscle in the last 2 months.

I can't say that I would force my child, as I think that is a pretty high-risk gamble...not much of a chance that they actually end up having fun if they didn't want to go in the first place...

that said, proms do seem to mean a lot more to girls, so she may be open to some ridicule for not going later on...

bottom line is, mom likely knows her daughther better than anyone and also obviously knows that you going with her will make her night a good one...

fwiw, I agree that you are a good dude for doing that...

I don't have an honest answer to your question. I suppose I wouldn't force it but strongly encourage that they go.

But I do have a question of my own: who would make fun of an autistic person at prom? That's like Hitler-level mean.

fwiw, over the last couple of years they changed the definition of who is considered autistic...that really strange dude or girl that used to be in your class at school would probably be considered autistic now...

I did thank you, but when someone is taking their autistic cousin and you making a sick joke like you did... just means you are trash

No that's ridiculous and their choice but she's probably glad she went now and you're a good man

I would never force my child to go to any social event, especially if that child had a disorder that affected social interaction.

Why would you need to play bodyguard and make sure no one messes with her? Hasn't she been going to school, on a daily basis, with the same people already? I'm not really familiar with how that sort of thing works, but is she in a special education program of some sort or did she progress at the same grade level as her peers?

That being said... if your aunt is forcing her to go, she's lucky to have a cousin like you. I'd do everything possible to make the night memorable for her.

The questions people ask on this board are mind boggling. They can't be real questions

No I wouldn't and didn't. It's their choice to go or not.

LSUTil_iDie, you are doing a good thing by taking your cousin. The world could use more people like you.
