Had to replace my phone and just got an iphone 6. Really am going to need a waterproof case for this one. I dont necessarily need to go snorkeling or anything with it - just want a little more protection. I spend a lot of time on the river and keep my phone in my waders pocket.

I know the Lifeproof cases are out there but I've read about some others too. Any experience with any of these? Pros and Cons?

No - I don't want a galaxy phone and yes I know I can keep it in one of those little waterproof sleeves/bags/sandwich bag. I take pictures with the phone and these are too difficult when managing a huge steelhead, fly rod, and phone surrounded by a bag at the same time.

Lifeproof cases have worked well for me for the past three or four years. They are expensive and the warranty sign up is tedious, but I've had one claim and they sent me an upgraded case to resolve it.

What was the process for getting a new one? I think I signed up when I first got my iphone, but I don't remember how to access my warranty? My lifeproof is falling apart, literally.

Have you had any water incidents where it proved its worth? Is the touch screen just as sensitive?

Check out the Merit tough cases on Amazon.

I have one on my 6 plus right now and it's been awesome. No, it isn't the premium feel of the Lifeproof but IMO does just as good of a job

And hey, it's also under $40 at Amazon whereas the Lifeproof is around twice that much

Your speaker is going to suck real bad when trying to listen to music with a lifeproof case... Also, don't expect to hear or be heard real clear while making phone calls...

That being said, I've had mine for a year and my phone is still in one piece, and I'm real hard on phones

I never signed up for a warranty. I went on their website and filled out a claim, they emailed me asking for pics of it and the serial numbers, and i got a new case in the mail a week later

I hear this a lot but never had this problem. The speaker wasn't great but opening the charging port helped, and honestly why are you listening to music from a phone speaker? Get a bluetooth speaker or headphones.

My 4s with lifeproof was dropped in puddles several times, I took it in a pool a few inches below the surface and took pictures once, and would regularly rinse it under a faucet. Never any issues.

Where on the case is the serial number?

I registered the cases when I got them, they want a screenshot of the IOS page from the phone and serial number(s) of the cases, a picture of the purchase receipt and the website was not very cooperative. I'm glad you were able to get your claim handled without all that. My cases are on work devices (iPhone and iPads) so I felt like I should register the cases immediately after purchase.

Inside, small sticker. Should be one on each half.

Mine was a 4s case, I haven't messed with the newer cases or nuud cases

This. I have gone through monsoons, dropped mine on concrete from elevation, stepped on it, thrown it, abused it in damn near every way and my phone still looks brand new almost 2 years later.

On the inside, the iPad cases have a serial number on both halves, the last iPhone case I registered had only one serial number on one inside part of the case.

The cases though, got torn up pretty bad. Each one only lasted 10 months or so. Not terrible sense having them replaced isn't that difficult.

I don't have an iphone anymore but if I did I'd have a lifeproof again. I abuse the hell out of my phone and am in salt water a lot so it's worth it just for peace of mind to me.

I have a 6+ with a life proof. Had a life proof on my 5. Never had an issue with either.

They're the best imho.

Had the fre on a 4s and hated it,

Bought a nuud for the 6 and it's better but still meh. I know I won't break it now. Only problem so far is that if I put it on speakerphone people say I am muffled.
