Folks are being overly harsh on Mass Effect 3. It had pretty refined gameplay, an engaging story, and a lot of emotional investment developed after so many hours over the various games interacting with these characters.

Sadly the ending has a scripting bug in it. Just take my word for it. When the story suddenly turns to crap in the third game right at the very end just turn it off.

This loved 2&3 but 1 sucked

ME1 is a fantastic game with the best story of the series. The gameplay improved with the sequels, but to say that ME1 sucked shows you have shite taste when it comes to video games.

I liked the story of 2 just a bit more then 1. They were both strong. 3... well... if the ending wasn't so bad it would be just fine.

God, this. And I wrote my summary of the 3 last night while deep in my cups, but I stand by it. 1 & 2 are more or less equal, 3 falls off because of what it did to the franchise (even if it has arguably the best gameplay).

In all seriousness, if you'd like to justify your opinion I'd love to hear why you think ME1 sucked.

1. Play all 3 in order
2. Get depressed because they are over
3. Repeat

I need them to go ahead release the remastered versions

With the exception of jRPG's which require me to be in the right kind of mood, that's how I feel. Good graphics, story, etc are nice - can be awesome - but just added bonuses. Gameplay makes or breaks a game. Most cinematics are boring.

It isn't like it is a broken game or anything. It is just the worst of the 3 when it comes to gameplay.

Cinematics aren't the only way to tell a story. At the end of the day if the story bores you, why play it? Obviously there are notable exceptions like sports games or multiplayer games where the social aspect trumps all. But in strict single player games, storyline matters.

IMO

Um, the challenge and the fun of playing the game. Testing your reflexes or problem solving or exploring etc etc

Though these are my opinions I was just trolling him because I thought it was douchey to say "the gameplay is worse but the story is better so you have shitty tastes"

Let's all just enjoy what we enjoy, and get what we want out of games without acting pretentious

I think these challenges and fun exist with a good storyline in plenty of games. And those are the ones I will play.

But as you said, personal preference matter. So that's why I said IMO. Game away

The 1st Mass Effect I played was ME2 so I got used to the much smoother and prettier gameplay (Had the same problem with Morrowind). Don't know why but if I play the sequels before I play the originals a lot of times I dislike the originals

I said he had shitty taste because he said that Mass Effect 1 sucked. As in the entire game sucked, not one specific element.

Learn to read, it's a useful skill.
