Well, i'll take a wild guess, but i would say funneling the busiest Interstate roadway through a major city and narrowing it down to one lane at a curve might be a start.

I am getting so sick of it. I work in Brusly and the wait just to even get on the bridge is a good 45 minutes to an hour on a normal day. Now, I get off of work at 3:30 so I can only imagine what it is like for those getting off at 5. I work in education and I am at a really good school, I don't want to work in EBR but I don't know how much longer I can put up with this traffic. When I first started working here 3 years ago, the wait was only bad on Friday's and it still wasn't as bad as it is now. Progressively it has gotten worse to the point where there is a wait every day with the exceptions of Mondays. Mondays tend to be OK at 3:30. Any other day of the week, forget about it. Thursday or Friday, double the time you waited earlier in the week. An accident on the interstate, just go ahead and put your car in park on LA-1.
I used to have a short cut that saved me a good 30 minutes or so every day but now the police barricade that street around 3:30 every day. I think they feel it will help the flow of traffic but from what I have seen this week it is only making it worse. So now I have no choice but to sit in the traffic or to go up to 190 and then fight to get back across Baton Rouge since I don't live anywhere near that part of town.

Yea I have lived in BR my whole life and just started working in TX causing me to be east bound every Friday. It seems like it has gotten worse. I don't ever remember it this bad.

When I passed it must have just happened. There was only one cop there. I passed another cop and the fire truck heading that way.
