So
Here is something you can vote on
I have even been to several of these (maybe more then several).
Sadly - and I apologize for this - NOLA Smokehose is not in the running.
We need a good BBQ place discussion, so comments are welcome

I have done my duty.
I live about 2 minutes from Miss Myra's in Cahaba Heights and I go to Saw's about once a month for work lunch.
I'm blessed to be able to get quality BBQ very easily.

You will notice there were no BBQ joints in Mississippi in the running.
I have no criticism of that decision, preferring to restate what I said in the epic Yelp thread - that the best BBQ in Meridian, MS is from my pit.
I have eaten at both Miss Myra's and Saw's and voted for both of them.

I'm under the opinion that most of the 'best' food out there is cooked in homes, where people can pay 100% attention to the dish, and not have to worry about all the other things going on in a commercial kitchen and getting food out super fast.
And now that virtually any ingredient is readily available to the home cook, one of the big advantages of restaurant dishes has gone.
The best BBQ I've ever had was tasting samples at the Whistlestop BBQ competition in Huntsville.
For restaurant BBQ, so far the best is Saw's in Homewoood. I've heard from local folks that there are a few BBQ joints in St. Louis that are head and shoulders above the rest. I'll find out one day.
