Not that this will take the sting away from losing the game last night, but I just wanted to come here and give LSU props for the way they played. Your team was better than ours for 80-90% of the game.

I believe this game scenario, played out 10 times, would result in an LSU win nine out of 10. I am just happy our guys pulled it out in the end.

I told my wife right after it ended that I honestly felt worse for LSU nation than I have ever felt for an opponent that just lost to my Wolfpack. It's never fun to lose, especially the way you lost this one. We have zero animosity toward LSU, so I just felt bad for your team and fans.

I just wanted you to know that this is one State fan that is not gloating. I'm just happy to have won. Hopefully, we'll get our game back on track and play a little better on Saturday, for the ENTIRE game.

If you can find it in your hearts, wish us luck against Villanova?

Cheers!

To the few people that can talk sense at this hour of the day congrats man. Y'all are a solid ball club. And I wish u the best against nova.

It's just the same ole story for us over and over. We often have the more talented team but Johnny isn't the kind of in game coach to make it happen down the stretch of a game

Good luck against Nova.

Always liked NC State, going back to '74 when y'all took out UCLA.

Classy post.

I'm not sure who was really the better team to be honest. It was a tale of two halves. I saw an aggressive and intense defense from LSU in the first half (best defensive half from us all year) that I think caught NC State by surprise. It forced Pack into some bad shots and caused a bunch of transition points and easy baskets for LSU. If we could play like that for 40 mins, this would be a top 10 team.

But, our lack of depth caught up with us. From the first few minutes of the second half, it was obvious we weren't going to/weren't able to maintain that intensity on the defensive side. Grey and Patterson weren't in the pocket of your guards and M&M were having to slide a bunch down low to cover our defenders being a step behind on dribble drives or dishes out to the corner. We were luckily able to hit a couple of nice shots at the right time to keep a double digit lead until late but the dam finally broke at the free throw line. Mickey, Martin, and Quartermann are close to the top in minutes per game in SEC and nationwide and it showed. Wish we could play with an extra player or two from the bench worth a damn.

I give Yall credit. Pack hit some nice contested shots from the outside late that they couldnt seem to find in the first half. Seems like Gottfried adjusted some of the offensive sets in the second half to spread LSU out a little more as well. There was a lot more off-the-ball screens to free up shooters around the arc and it made our guards have to work much harder to contest shots. They also cut down on the turnovers that LSU absolutely feasted on the first half. All in all, pretty evenly matched game that I wish had ended differently. Enjoy the ride.

Good luck with 'Nova

The guard matchup between NC St and Nova will be incredible. It's going to hurt not seeing LSU out there, but in terms of strengths and styles this should make for a better watch. Hope your guys can give them hell.

My pa always said to root for the team that beat you, so that you can at least say you lost to the champs.

Go wolfpack

But I don't think I'll be watching anymore this tourney. Just can't.

We hurt this morning. Coonasses are a tough lot, though. We've been through a lot. We'll bounce back. Always do.

You shouldn't need it, they're the biggest tournament choke artists in NCAA history.

good luck to your guys the rest of the way. They showed a lot of mental toughness after a rough first half. They eliminated the turnovers and started cleaning up on the offensive glass.
