This has been a detriment to LSU's offense for years now. Every time we have the bases juiced with less than 2 outs you can almost guarantee a double play is coming up. Guys at the plate should be trying to get under the ball more, especially the ones who have some power. If they don't get a hit you still have a chance to tag the guy from third in and worst case scenario you get one out. But these double plays are painful

imo, our hitting is way too inconsistent for this team to get to Omaha. sure, the season is young and I desparately want our hitting to improve. but it seems that, as a team we sometimes hit the cover off the ball and score double digit runs but most of the time we can't buy a friggin' hit.

and yes, our hitting with the bases loaded or with runners on seems to be double play ground balls almost everiy time. it's frustrating and it's something this team better work out. we're as consistent as the basketball team; great or terrible.

I haven't followed baseball. What is the baseball teams record? Is great or is it terrible?

We lost 2 games. How's that inconsistent in anything we do? Lol

And lol at saying they need to get a little under the ball. That's easy.

we lost 3 games and it's how we have lost them and how we've squeeked by in a number of our wins. I mean, this team scores as many runs as hits sometimes (or close to it). yes, we are good at all facets of the game but we are getting pretty well shut down against decent, not great pitching. OUR pitching is the reason we have only lost 3 games.

We are hitting okay. Highest average in the SEC... it's being a little more patient and stringing the hits together.

I'm afraid that what Asllan mentioned the other night is coming to bite us in the arse. Too many guys are being moved around. The inconsistency has an effect. We need to find our base 9 guys and stick with them.

We have played a lot of close games this year... 11 save opportunities for us... and 2 for our opponents. That's over half of our games within 3 runs the last inning. It's nice to be winning them and that will be important later.

It seems like we've settled on 8 guys that are going to play every day. Zardon is the only one I don't know about right now.

You don't think Byrd or KRob could still see time? Hell, he put in Bryce tonight!

And speaking of Bryce... I know he was in because KRob hit for Zardon... but why not hit Sciambra there vs. the righty?

Ur right. We need to start winning by 5+ every game to be an Omaha team.

I do but I have hard time seeing any of the other 8 coming out the lineup right now. of course playing Byrd or KRob probably means Chinea at 1B
