So the World Cup will now be competing with the likes of the the NFL playoff hunt and NCAA conference championships. Fantastic

just adds to the list of awesomeness that's happens on that day
First off my birthday then two random dudes(Bradd Pitt and Steven Spielberg) birthdays and now the first(and hopefully only) Winter world cup final.

Also USA wins its second world cup on that day

Might be the weirdest start to a sentence I've ever seen on here.

Yes, but DS has picked up his slack, especially with PSG winning.

You are the worst when it comes to championing the MLS

I don't act like either of those two. Never been banned never done anything to be banned.

Deadspin weighs in

Unless people start pulling out, which is precisely what the US men's national team ought to do.

I know that, as soccer nations go, we are piddly shite. We may not even qualify for that 2022 World Cup unless we hand out some green cards to a bunch of German toddlers (our coach is on it). Despite the fact that a handful of sponsors have already pulled out of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, which will be conducted under Vlad Putin's very particular brand of 1986 action movie villainy, all of FIFA's ongoing shenanigans—which, I must again note, include literal human enslavement—have been met with indifference.
