t involves dead bodies, S&M, and RAILWAY SYSTEMS.

The season is due to kick off with the dead body of a corrupt politician being found along the Pacific Coast Highway with satanic symbols carved into his chest. California Highway Patrol officers Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch are assigned the case. It turns out the victim is a known associate of Vince Vaughn’s character and this dead man had a dark side involving some associations with S&M clubs – but perhaps most importantly, the man was in the middle of brokering a big deal that would solve the state’s gridlock problem.

So the main characters aren't actually detectives this season?
Interesting.

Maybe it will tie back to season 1 and the Tuttles somehow?

IT'S NOT ABOUT THE OCCULT

Nowhere in there does it mention Vaughn playing an obnoxious man-child with a generic profession, so sight unseen, it’s already his best role in a decade.

The thing I'm most worried about is not having cary fukunaga directing every episode, and instead choosing to go the director by committee route. i think that using just one talented director brought about a certain level of cohesion in season one, which allowed for some of the more creative filming techniques used, and a more complete visual world.

Pizzolatto is still the show runner, writer and creator, so perhaps it was more of his vision in the first place, and not Fukunaga, but for some reason I doubt that.

The pacing of this plot seems way to slow for me.

My biggest concern is lack of Alexandra D in the show...

Looks like this will be good TV once again.
