Konami has responded to rumours circulating this morning suggesting that Metal Gear Solid director Hideo Kojima has left the company.
In a statement provided to VideoGamer.com, a Konami representative said: "Konami Digital Entertainment, including Mr. Kojima, will continue to develop and support Metal Gear products. Please look forward to future announcements."
Rumours of Kojima's departure appeared on Reddit earlier today after it was discovered that Kojima Productions' logos had been removed from the Metal Gear Solid website.
Kojima Productions' website also redirects to Konami's Metal Gear Solid portal.
The representative declined to comment further when asked about the changes made to the developer's website.
References to Kojima Productions and Hideo Kojima have also been removed from artwork of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes on Konami's website (click for higher resolution):

I looked, but there's no way to tie this to anything Battlefield related.

Well, it's not Battlefield so it sucks. Obvi!
Carry on...

On topic, does this mean MGS will now have a coherent storyline?

Then it wouldn't be MGS.
But yeah, they remove their head out of their asses about the story just a few inches and I think we can actually enjoy these games again.

This was easier than I thought.

This would really suck if it's true. I'm assuming that MGS V is mostly in the QA phase of development at this point and the gameplay and story are pretty concrete, but my interest in this series going forward is drastically reduced without Kojima involved.
Of course, knowing him, this could just be some sort of meta-meta-meta-narrative that ties into the plot of MGS V.

Jeez. He would, wouldn't he?
But taking his name off the games is interesting if that is in fact true.

He says this is his last MGS, just like he has said the 3 previous games

Does this mean the long anticipated animaniacs sequel isn't happening?

You've been a peach lately. More girl drama?

It's an awesome game especially if you love movies from the 80s. Each lot is a genre of movies and the levels are all classic 80s
