I have wood and tile every place but the bedrooms. I like carpet in my bedrooms. Had Home Depot install 3 bedrooms back when they came out with that $199 whole home install price a few years back and they did a great job. House caught on fire, had them come out again last year after the rebuild. This time it had dropped to $99. Once again, great job. The second time I had my independent flooring guys in the house laying tile at the same time and they said they don't know how they do it for $99. I figured I was getting raped on the carpet, but the tile guys said that the carpet and pad was high quality and priced the same as it would be through them. The tile guys had been at my house for a week by that time, so we had become buds, I guess you could say, so I trusted their opinion. It was special order carpet and pad. The best HD had to offer. I guess they make it up on volume. You would think for $99 it would be a crappy install, but it wasn't. If it matters, both times were through the HD on Coursey. Get the best pad they have!!! Don't go cheap on the pad!!! Oh, and you won't understand a word the installers say, but they know how to lay carpet.

It's free install for carpet over $1500, not including demo and stairs

Not sure about anything else he said and have no reason to refute it but, agree with don't go cheap on the pad.

I work for a flooring company. I could sell you the carpet and get my guys to install it or point you in the right direction.
