New boat music would blow if I bet on Mofro, thank God for NM Osborne. Original Bingham doesn't hurt either

I saw them last fall here in Birmingham, and they rock live. I have had their last album for a year or two and have given it a lot of spins. I am really digging their new album. I will probably end up liking it better than the last. I need to buy the vinyl.

Saw this band at Shaky Knees last year and they were great live. The chick singer is also pretty hot. I need to give the new album a listen.

I actually been listening to it since it came out

Otis at the end is pretty cool when it changes tempo

Another great recommendation from this board. Love this album. It's a great mix of styles that all blend together really well.

Saw them Thursday between Sons of Bill and Bingham. My favorite set of the day and some Norwegian SXer bought me a copy of the album. I can't stop listening. I absolutely love their sound.

Thought they were the best act at Hogs for the Cause last year. They closed Stage 2 Saturday. Awesome show. New album good but feel first is much better.

Think Strand of Oaks or maybe Hiss Golden Messenger will be the Houndmouth of Hogs 2015 next weekend.

I thought I'd like this band but I'm not so sure. They sound like a carbon copy of any of the other new age folk bands (Head and the Heart, Of Monsters and Men, Edward Sharpe, Civil Wars, etc), who are also carbon copies of each other. It's just become so boring.

Dude there is a lot of copying out there, but the only ones they sound remotely like to me are uptempo THATH and occasionally Edward Sharpe (but definitely not as weird/druggy).

None the the 4 you listed are similar at all. THATH is a mix of uptempo indie pop and folk, Of Monsters and Men is soaring Icelandic something that sounds much different than any other band, Edward Sharpe is pretty unique, and Civil Wars is legitimately acoustic and boring.

Lone Bellow is a carbon copy of Civil Wars. But even then, it's a guy and girl playing low key acoustic music together. That's simple, but it may not be a rip off. Indie folk is a pretty simple genre and in that way I can see why some people may get tired of it. But in your view it'd be like saying Joe Pug is copying Ryan Adams because they're both singer-songwriters.

But, I mostly tire of bands that are quite unique (but result in a unique sound that is carried through every song and album). Mumford, for example.

Ok maybe those 4 aren't copies of each other. I just associate them all together into one big folk movement. Some of the bands are hard to tell apart, and that's the truth.

I just can't find anything from these bands that really sets them apart from each other, with maybe the exception fo Fleet Foxes.
