Martin and Mickey have been great for us. And who knows what Simmons or Victor will be. Maybe Victor comes in and is sensational. We all watched as Brandon Bass, Glenn Davis and Tasmin Mitchell were huge recruits. But the best player (highest drafted) of that era was Tyrus Thomas.

There's not a lot of guys in the country that can come in and replace M&Ms production much less 2 true frosh. We just need one of our bigs to play solid defense and let our guards do damage.

Victor would do the same type of thing on a team like Vandy.

Seen Victor play a few times. He is not nearly as good as Jones.

I can't help it :
They have allegedly contracted " school fatigue"?!!!
Wha...
Sounds like an awful, chronic, progressive affliction.
Apparently, it first impairs the patient's judgment
Perhaps even induces hallucinations that they will presently possess NBA talent.
I may have once suffered from a slight, temporary impairment of that sort, but recovered after I left the bar and got some sleep....
These two just need medical attention.

tigerBait,
I posit that it is IMPOSSIBLE to look stupid in this thread.
And the fact that you think my views represent a stark departure from the commonly accepted wisdom her is perhaps the most complimentary statement you can make,.
Rather than defer to or celebrate the wisdom of these 20 yr olds, I hope somebody will have the good sense to talk to them and advise them.
dale Brown was not a great coach, but at times he was a great friends to his players.

Woo wee... We are getting ignant up in here today!

1) Simmons is the best player to come out of high school since Lebron... Paired with Victor I'll take them over M&M any day of the week.
2) Mickey has played himself off every draft board in the country with his play over the last month. He ain't goin anywhere.

So Victor, who only got 4 minutes a game at Arizona is going to replace either Martin or Mickey? Simmons is good enough to replace one of them, Victor ain't on that level.

So a true freshman gets 4 min/game at one of the top teams in the country but has no shot of starting his sophomore year on a team losing both bigs?

Did you ride the short bus to school today?

Victor was stuck behind 4potential 1st round NBA players at Arizona. Hollis-Jefferson, Johnson, Ashley, and Tarzewski. How many minutes do you think he would get. They are solid 4 deep at guard also. Victor can play but he is not a dominant player at this time.

Craig Victor is legit. You are acting like he was cut by Arizona or something. He left for family/personal reasons, not because he couldn't cut it.

Arizona fans were plenty sad when he transferred.

I dislike the statement let's see if we can make the tourney 2 years in a row. Change that to let's see if we can make some NOISE in the tourney 2 years in a row and recruit well and we will talk national championship.

Yeah, hilarious the people in this thread saying Victor is no good because he only played 4 minutes a game at Zona. Were talking about a top 5 program here, he would be our starting 5 man this year.

He was on one of the best teams in the country playing behind some of the best bigs in the country. Thats mainly why he didnt play. Im not saying Victor is gonna come in and do what Mickey did, but he didnt leave because he was bad. He will certainly be an upgrade over any big we have behind Mickey and Martin. And if Victor was on our team this year, he would have played a lot minutes behind Mickey and Martin.
