You're an idiot if you think JOB has a better skill set the Martin. With JOB scouts know what he's going to be. With Martin the sky is the limit. He has the potential to be an NBA starter. He isn't there yet, but with NBA coaches and basketball being his full time job he could very well be. People don't realize Martin's skillset mixed with his athletic ability and size isn't around every corner. Martin is 6'10 with explosive athletic ability, he can dribble, has a pretty shot with naturally good form that will only improve, he can run the floor, drive from the wing or elbow.

JOB was a really good college player, but he was a pure post up rebound big body player.

Disagree. One of the things he needs work on. Ball handling skills are average at best.
Turnover machine. He can run the floor, just not with the ball in his hands.

I hope they both stay. But Jordy talks to JJ all the time and is well connected with others in the know. When he speaks, I tend to listen.

100 percent agree. I do not see Martin coming back. Maybe Mickey, but I still see him overseas. Martin will be good in the NBA. He will be fun to watch when he maximizes his potential.

are you forgetting that mickey was a true freshman and started. A guy whos played a couple minutes for arizona and practice with those guys all summer and fall cant come and play, if a guy fresh off of HS ball could?

This is so true ,it's called creating your own shot . He can't do it yet. He even has trouble jumping off the dribble . He will go though and according to Mickeys dad they are waiting for NBA grade to decide.

Average for 6'10" is really good. The fact that he is serviceable enough to do it is why he's able to do so well.

I'd also like to get your definition of turnover machine, because Martin is not one. He averages 2.8to/game playing for 35 minutes/game. For comparison, Okafor from Duke averages 2.6/game. Le'Bryan Nash from Okla St. averages 3.1/game. Rakeem Christmas from Syracuse averages 2.5/game. Terran Petteway from Nebraska averages 3.4/game.

I just went looked up a couple players off the top of my head. While you can make the argument for Mickey that he is a turnover machine, it's more of a product of how teams respond to Martin/Mickey and our use hi-low passing.

If J Mickey is an undersized 4 and not skilled enough to play the 3 why should he play for LSU next yr when Ben Simmons is so much better???

A. They don't play the same position.
B. He would still start

Martin is everything I hoped he would be. He and Hornsby have carried this team the latter part of the season. What else do you want him to do.
Mickey was All SEC. Something happened, he is either sick or injured.
You can't blame Mickey, Martin, Hornby, Quarterman, or Patterson. If you have paid attention you know that Quarterman and Patterson have also been injured.
I'd take another like either of them every season.

The sample size we got this year on Malone is not promising and Elbert can't play in front of Malone.

Elbert will be ready next year. Dude lost 80lbs in a short amount of time with mainly diet change. Go try to play SEC ball at 7' tall doing that

I look for him to be REALLY good next year. He's already looking bulkier

Darcey Malone started several games...you know what that meant? It meant he was all we had! If Victor starts it means it's all we have...doesn't mean he is that good. Need Martin or Mickey to return so that Victor can come off the bench. Victor is a big drop off from M and M...

He is better than your are giving him credit for. He's got decent size and strength and has played with among some of the best players in the country at Zona.

He will play a TON of minutes for us next year.

Ok well I'll say it then...ummm does Mickey really think he can leave?

I get he doesn't like school, but does any player (or person), actually "enjoy" it. I'm sorry that in his mind he built himself up to only playing 2 years, but that's ignorant. I think it's a poor career choice, and a very selfish move on Mickey's part if he leaves.

NBA is gonna give him a negative grade if he puts his name out for testing. They'll laugh at him.

Simmons is as good as Martin or Mickey. Victor is not. So there will be a drop off in the front court if they both leave. You CANNOT count on Malone, Elbert or Epps

Why is that? Could you really count on Quarterman last year? When Epps came in vs arky he put up 5 quick points. He looked out of place on D, but that can be taught. I think as Elbert spends more time in the college weight program and gets used to his size he will become a force in the paint. To count both of them out after their freshman year is just stupid.

Ya'll have to remember he is 6'10. You can tell he has a natural pretty shot, its not falling great yet, but he has the natural form to improve and become consistent. Mickey is the opposite his is a forced looking shot. The same goes with Martin's ball handling skills, he's not great, but he's much smoother with the ball, then someone like JOB or Mickey. He's honestly a smoother, more controlled, ball handler then even Hornsby. He has all the tools and traits to be an NBA starter. That's what NBA teams are looking at, his potential. He can improve a lot if basketball is his full time job and he has access to the best coaches.

Please don't take this wrong. I'm not bashing other players, I'm just looking at it from NBA scouts' point of view, and it's just my opinion. I know Martin could improve to a potential lottery pick if he stayed though. With the buzz carrying over from how he ended this year, with the sick dunks, and scoring. Also with all the attention we'll have from our incomming recruits. Both bigs could improve they're stock if they stayed. I just don't see it happening though, hope I'm wrong.
