G Ralston Turner, 6-5, Sr., 13.2 ppg, 3.3 rpg
G Anthony Barber, 6-2, So., 12.1 ppg, 3.8 apg
F Kyle Washington, 6-9, So., 6.7 ppg, 4.3 rpg
F Lennard Freeman, 6-8, So., 3.4 ppg, 5.6 rpg
Storylines
— With ACC Player of the Year T.J. Warren, N.C. State beat Xavier in the first round of last year’s NCAA Tournament to move into the field of 64, but lost an overtime battle to St. Louis in the second round.
— The Wolfpack was on the wrong side of the tournament bubble in early February, but wins over Louisville and North Carolina within 10 days of each other vaulted them back into the Tournament discussion.
— Gottfried has taken the Wolfpack to the NCAA Tournament in each of his first four seasons in Raleigh, advancing to the Sweet 16 in 2012.

just pulling a little info from this
it will be a tough game - these guys play in BB country and have played some of the best !
after watching LSU all year - you don't know who will show up
they got to bring the A game so all I can do is hope !

Getting 3/5 starters right is not very good for whoever wrote this. Maybe he gets lucky and Freeman starts, idk. But Washington? LOL

Has Ralston's game evolved or can you still shut him down by just standing next to him at the three point line all game?

I hope Mark Harmon doesn't bring his A game against us.

He is a pretty decent jump shooter. Still fairly streaky though. He can shoot us out of a game for sure. Pretty bad defender

Sounds similar to his time in Baton Rouge. Streaky shooter who was great at times, but not really good at anything else despite his great size.

Ralstom still hasn't found a shot he didn't like. He's aberaging a pretty remarkable .9 assists per game

His role isnt to distribute. His role is to shoot.

To be fair, when he was here, his only discernible skill was shooting. So that makes sense.

Just think of him as Ryan Anderson on the Pels.

In a lot of ways, they seem like a negative image of LSU. They don't have any studs like Mickey or Martin, but they spread the ball around well and don't turn it over easily. On the defensive side, they make shots difficult for the opposition but don't create many turnovers.

No way he gets hurt that much.

Having see all of LSU's games and a half-dozen or so of the 'Packs, I believe the game will come down to the team that plays the best backcourt defense, which includes the ball-switches by the Tiger bigs when the NCS guards attempt to penetrate. LSU is better in the frontcourt but that doesn't mean much if they allow the NCS guards to fire at will.
The LSU team that won at WVU, Ole Miss and Ark. would be more than a match for State. Obviously you can't play great everywhere else and miss nearly half your free throws either. I like the fact that LSU is in the underdog role. They seem to focus better when that's the case.

There's a difference between being a facilitator and a ball hog. .9 assists per game for a starting guard who plays that much is awful...

You're focusing too much on his label of "guard"

Well I would want someone playing that many minutes to do more than just stand on the 3-point line. It's not like I don't know Turner's game. Just looking at the stats reminds me why I don't miss him at all. I know he's a great 3-point shooter, but I would want a player playing that much to help spread the ball around, especially since there are 2 other very good guards surrounding him.

Out of all 8 seed followed by 1 seed matchup, LSU drew the most favorable bracket to be in.
They match up well with NC State and with the streaky Turner shooting LSU has a chance.

Just like LSU, on their good days they can beat Duke and UNC but on their bad days they can lose to Wake and Boston Colloge.
All depends on who shows up

Yea, but they rely more on hitting shots. If they hit shots it's over. Lsu isn't about shooting, Lsu is about hustle and tenacity. There is a difference
