Who is the official scorer at the badeball games? Is it someone from LSU, or an independent official? Just curious who it is.

Bryan Lazare, I believe, is the official scorekeeper for LSU. If my recollection holds, he is a Louisiana guy out of Jesuit High School who went to Vanderbilt and majored in something like Sports Administration.

I don't always agree with his calls in discriminating between hits and errors, but that's baseball.

And Bregman's at bat on Sat that was ruled an error has been changed to a hit by Sunday evening. FWIW.

He once called a hit and error on the same play... to KRob I think... a grounder got under his glove and rolled away. Runner took second. Gave him a single with a single-base error. Makes 0 sense. If he fields it cleanly, it's an out. If he doesn't, he's safe. It's either a double or error. It's like giving a single and error on a flyball to the outfield that gets lost in the sun but the runner takes 2nd.

I actually watched an old man wait for him to come out last season and cuss him out for scoring a error for us that should have been a hit

Lazare told him to frick off

it was a sight to be seen

No seriously, that is a really, cool story. I would have liked to have seen it. I mean, I critique him on here, but his old dude went straight to the source.

LSU's guy is pretty good. I've been around a handful who didn't know what the hell they were doing. Especially when it comes to wild pitches and passed balls.

Sometimes I wonder if you are just an algorithm that disagrees with the first #hottake in a thread.

That settles it. If you don't like it Alleva should make a change immediately.
