Been using the standard propane burner and sitting the pot on top, etc.

That has worked OK for years, but I'm looking for something more stable.

What does the OB use?

Aluminum locker off of a tug boat.

Custom burner that we made.

They have a lot of custom tub cookers now but they command a pretty penny

10" schedule 80 steel pipe cut into a 6" section with 6 #2 rebar on top for pot support.. 3/4 iron pipe with 1/4" plate on bottom for 3 legs. (Welded) 1/2 iron pipe with 90 nipple and cap drilled with 3 holes for propane delivery.

Add kick arse regulator.

This set up was made for my dad before i was born. I use still and i am 43.

Gets to boil point in a hurry.

Excellent thread, VG

I was thinking of doing/buying a custom job, done with winter car stuff and got to do something after spring cleaning.

I'm looking at something awesome as I plan on boiling a lot more, would like it to be fairly portable.

I'm kinda surprised you don't have the KR logo engraved on your paddle.

Needs to be able to boil quickly.
Needs to be able to easily dump the crawfish.
Portable.
Relatively low to the ground.
Safe, in terms of tipping over and heat dissipation.
Standard hose connection for draining.

Thinking of little ones in the vicinity...

They were at the sportsman show. I like that they have a 1 sack pot, but Id probably get the bigger one.

It wasnt pretty, but neither is boiling crawfish.

I have no idea about pricing, but I am curious.

Sams club sells this if you're looking for value. $750 I think. Can easily do 2 sacks plus sides.

Not having the skills to build something like you all have pictured, I was given a Rocket Pot in the fall. Used it last weekend and I was very skeptical about it begin anything other than a gimmick. It brought everything to a boil very quickly, I was impressed.

Of course not as impressed as some of the rigs you all have pictured.
