The Sun on Sunday clip claims to show the England striker sparring with Stoke City defender Phil Bardsley, at Rooney's home in Cheshire.
In the video, boxing fan Rooney, 29, seems to be caught by a blow from former United team-mate Bardsley, 29.
Rooney falls backwards and does not move until the footage ends.
The Sun on Sunday reports that the incident happened on 22 February, with Rooney given two days off after United's 2-1 defeat at Swansea the day before.
The video shows the two men exchanging several punches and grappling before Bardsley hits Rooney with a left-hand jab.

Almost looks fake when laying there splayed out but he hit ground too hard to fake unless he's taking wwe lessons.

Oh don't get me wrong he got knocked out cold. What I meant was it was almost too perfect of a knockout... If someone was doing an impression of being knocked out it would look like that. Arms out, extremities splayed out, and staring straight up at ceiling.

I cant tell if he actually did hit his head on whatever he feel near but he got dangerously close if not and that would have ended poorly for him.

Still struggling to determine if real or not. I would guess real because of the awkward fall.
Not much of a punch though... However, Rooney threw a haymaker uppercut a little before that, it didn't land but he threw it hard so maybe the KO is real.

He was knocked down for sure but I'm not sure he was actually knocked out. It looked to me like he was laying still on the ground as a joke. The video cuts off conveniently so you can't tell if he was really knocked out or not.
