Cooks was never reported ti be offered. In fact, him and Brees are supposedly the two untouchables.

Exactly, no way in hell they offered Cooks. They love that kid.
He's going to be a stud.

Right I meant to address that too. It's very clear from both rumors and what actually happened that we were trying to dump Stills. So it makes sense we offered him first. There can be no inference who the other receiver was by what was said but only Colston had true trade value(aside from Cooks who wouldn't be traded because of our investment in him and the fact it would have cost us even more cap).
But that does not mean we weren't trying to dump Jimmy. He's gone and that says we were willing to part with him at least.

That's the most logical thing I've heard you say. That doesn't mean there weren't other factors.

I'm not saying JG couldn't have been our secondary trade option, i'm just saying it's still plausible to me that loomis figured they would counteroffer for JG and that was his plan.
yeah this narrative was much stronger before we found out that we approached SEA for unger, and we initially offered cooks/stills
the narrative does not fit anymore once we find that out

The story of offering two receivers first my have just been an attempt to not make Jimmy look bad in the public eye.

when ya have a makeover that costs you cap money to move a player (Graham, Stills) the move HAS to be a lot more than just capology. Anyone ever get divorced a year after marriage? It's often sad but ya do it cuz ya think that will be better in the long run. That's Jimmy contract to me.
Stills, all the more so still on his rookie deal. He's a 22 yr old 5th Rd draft pick that has 95 catches at 16.5yds per and 8 TDs is a downfield threat. He was 4th in the NFL by catching 78% when targeted. I'm left only with that it had to be non-football issues.
How much the purge was pure capology or personality issues we will learn more details going forward. I think each reinforced the other.

According to the person I know within the team stills and vaccaro were always out late night before home games getting drunk and gambling at Harrahs. So Sean wanted to split them up, and Drew made the decision even easier for Sean.

It was on friday nights. Ingram would be a regular too with vaccaro at red eye.
Team stays in hotel and has curfew on Saturday nights

Seahawk fans are really laughing it up at us right now saying we basically got trade raped.
It's always fun to go on other forums and see the reactions of the other fan base. Also, we got trade raped by the Dolphins and Chiefs, per their fans.

I got the opposite reaction on their subreddit actually.
Actually a decent discussion

Dolphins should be excited about it. They got good value but we got rid of stills for other reasons

If Graham scores that TD against Atlanta instead of being knocked the frick out the endzone and fumbling our chance at going to the playoffs he's still here. That play was the straw that broke the camels back
Posted on 3/15/15 at 4:14 pm to Slapouttiger
That play was bs and completely blown by the officials

Except your narrative about clearing cap doesn't jive with the Graham or Stills trades as they both LOST us cap.
i thought we came out about $2.5 ahead when graham was traded, at least for our 2015 cap
stills was dealt for value, after we had gotten out of "cap hell"

I think the Saints definitely got the better end of this trade. A 3rd round pick and a serviceable LB for a 1 dimensional WR isn't too shabby.

Yeah Miami got Stills for a third basically. Great value for them. We got a higher return on an investment we didn't want any more plus a potential starting LB.
Win win.
We we're gonna cut Grubbs for nothing but got a pick in return while KC got a starting G.

Should of never let the little corner dominate him. You miss the point. Go back and look at hall of fame tightends in the past and name 1 who wouldn't smashed that little corner.

We got out of cap hell with the paycuts and bonus conversions. We made the PT and Lofton moves to keep Ingram and get Unger (Jimmy saved $2m while Unger cost $4.5m for a net loss of $2.5m). Getting rid of Grubbs got us Browner. Trading Stills and cutting White got us Ellerbe. Somewhere in there we fit in Spiller.
We were never in the perceived cap hell people thought we were in. The conversions got us to the cap and the pay cuts got us under.

It was a 6'2 210lb safety who kept him out with the help of another player... I can show you plenty of plays of a TE getting dominated by a corner. Look at Browners hit on Gates
And the ref didn't understand the rule from the comment after the game. It was a TD and his forward progress was easily stopped. Blaming Graham for a completely blown call is stupid
