Dude grew up in Hawaii, lived all his adult life in the Pacific Northwest. His wife, who is about to pop out a kid, spent her entire life in the PNW. They get a call one day out of the blue that they're going to a city that they've never visited before. OF COURSE he was bummed. It'd be weird if he wasn't.

But the insecure NOLA folks are already like, "I don't know about this guy. He doesn't like us."

Of course the flip-side is that Brees spends every offseason and every bye-week in San Diego and people still think he's Mr. New Orleans.

We have a welcoming and accommodating fan base, and he will be arse sweating on the fingers of one of the most respected leaders in the league. They'll survive.

Poor guy. He and his wife are in for a culture shock

My SIL lives up there and is marrying a guy from up there. His first trip was a bit of a culture shock. But like most people, he loves it down here. He also said the fandom and fever for the Saints is so awesome. Most people up there suddenly decided they were Seahawks fans 3 years ago.

Still wouldn't be disappointed if we used one of those 3rd's on Dismukes or Grissau if they're still there.

He will love New Orleans. At least until he walks down Burbon and smells the streets

But who doesn't love New Orleans?

Yep, it must really suck making millions of dollars. When I have to move to another state for work, for way less than 7 figures, it takes me all of 5 minutes to deal with it.

He seems to have made a normal statement, though. He will be protecting a future HOF'er and that should be an honor.

I don't blame him for feeling like this. Pro football players are still human beings with feelings like fear and anxiety.

But I have no doubt he will come to love it in Nola once he gets past the culture shock that's inevitably to follow.

I hope Brittany takes her under her fertile wing. And yes, I would rather be "bummed" in Hawaii than NW Fl.

So he is human and fine with admitting it. I;m cool with that. Would rather hear that instead of a bunch of PR bullshite.
