I'm of the opinion that Amari is going to be the next OBJ. OBJ if you could do it over would probably be drafted #1 overall or at worst top 3.

So trade a 23 yr old up and coming receiver playing for peanuts AND a draft pick for a 34 year old guard coming off an injury with 12 million still owed...

Well in his scenario, we'd be keeping Stills. We'd be trade raping them

Also, he's 33, and he isn't really "coming off an injury". He missed the early part of the season but played in the last 8 games at a very high level

So, in his scenario, we'd be coming ahead in cap space by trading for a player that has only 1 negative PFF game since 2010.

I want Mathis bad, but he isn't worth trading stills for.

I would consider giving up a 2nd, and 5th for Mathis and a 4th though

He's honestly one of those guys I can see playing into his upper 30's.

He's slimmer than a guy like Evans and takes care of his body. No lingering issues like Evans with his back either.

More like a 3rd for Mathis and a 6th

06 was exciting, and right after the strike a few years back when the floodgates opened up, that was very crazy.

I don't think Amari will be like OBJ at all. OBJ is such an athletic freak, there will be few ever like him. (Not saying Amari isn't great athletically, but OBJ is above the rest).

I do see him being similar to Antonio Brown though. Good lord, Amari's route running is spectacular. He single handedly was the reason Bama beat LSU last year IMO. If he gets to an offense that designs complicated routes that gets wrs open (like Adam Gase's offense), he will easily become a pro bowler.

You are correct, saw all the talk about moving stills here and got mixed up, back to lurking for me.

I don't believe they would be actively moving stills unless it was for a 2 or higher, just way too much value for what he is on contract for, but they probably are more or less open to listening to offers for anyone on the squad.

I'd rather us stick to drafting OL than in free agency, and not even necessarily in the first few rounds. That seems to be the one postition we consistently do well drafting (Evans, Strief, Bushrod, Nicks, etc. all came 4th rd +)

Why not?

It would give us arguably the best oline in football over the next 2 years. We could focus on our defense with the 1st 2 picks and may even let us save money if we decide to let Evans go.

I don't trust us to draft an impact player in the 2nd

What? He kept us in the game. He dropped a ton of passes which is very out of character for him.

The personal foul and completely missing the corner blitzes are the reason we lost

I don't want to trade any draft picks unless we give away the 5th we just got for Grubbs

We aren't in a position to take any risks at guard. That is our #1 priority IMO. We take care of our interior line, the Saints are a playoff team

He was the reason Bama even got into overtime. He came up with such clutch catches when they mattered the most. I am not a fan of using the "we beat ourselves" excuse. Cooper kept them in the game and was the reason they got into overtime on the last drive.

I perfectly understand that, but I think he is the only player in the draft that can make up for the loss of JG.

But at the same time, you can still get a player maker in the first 2 rounds, along with a mlb and an offensive lineman if you don't trade up.

I can buy that, though I don't know that he'll put some similar stats. Hard to find a guy out of college who runs routes better though. I kinda hope he ends up here. Do we need him? I don't think so, we have other needs. It'd just give Brees a great target and it'd ensure he gets a good QB.

I'm not giving up a 2nd round pick for a 33-34 year old Guard. Not happening.

Not a valid reason to overpay.

What? No way I would give up a 2nd for a 33 year old OG.

Why not? This is a win now league. You know we would be getting the best guard in football for at least 2 years. And the pff numbers show its not even close.

Secondly we suck at drafting. Sure let's pass on a sure fire play then pick up another SJB this year.
