Well Williams turned down 2 year 8 million. I was def expecting to the Saints to offer them both 5m a year or a bit more for Williams.

@RapSheet: Meanwhile, #Saints made a major push to sign CB Brandon Browner yesterday, offering him more than $5M per year. Could help that locker room
Wow, thats more than Lewis isn't it? Really hope he sticks around.

I mean...he's under contract. All he wants is us to fully guarantee his contract, which we absolutely must do since he's only 28.

He turned it down from the Packers.

Thats what I meant. I was just trying to say their is no way we were going to get both for 8 or 9m combined. Pretty sure he would just stay with the Packers. I know he wanted a 3 year deal too.

Ah that makes more sense. Thought you read he turned that down from the saints.

it isnt more than Lewis. Lewis avg is 5.26 a year.

With Williams, I can see a 3rd year being a more important factor rather than an extra million or so.

If the #Saints do sign Brandon Browner, & it could very well happen, Sean Payton gets his locker room enforcer. Browner will take ownership
Is Rapoport trying to make me change my underwear??

This year Lewis is on for 4.1 mil. If Browner is at 5.1 ish, and we can get Williams for ~ 4.5 mil, that's a very good top 3 CB rotation for a total of 13.7 mil a year. For comparisons sake, Seattle is on the hook for: Sherman - 10 mil guaranteed, 8.7 mil for Maxwell, and Jeremy Lane at 691k a year (that's some value). So while Seattle would have a better trio, it's not a huge gap and they would be paying ~ 6 million more this year for them. Big picture wise, those three together would be great value between 13.5 and 14.5 a year.

First order of business for Browner would be to pop Junior in his face. Got to set the pecking order in the locker room

Is $5MM a year a bit rich here? The need is definitely there though.

Should my pants be down yet, or is that premature?

Enforcer for that locker room? Yes please.

Someone on that other Saints forum site just said that Browner is going to visit the Redskins?
Please tell me that's not true....

He has that visit scheduled, but I'm not sure if he's left Nola yet or intends to make the visit.

Visit was supposed to be yesterday or today. If it hasn't happened, it's good news for us.
