How much will he cost is the real question

Spiller's injury issues have been overblown. He missed 3 games in his first 4 years. Broke his coller bone last year and missed 9 games. It happens.

He plays games and ends up getting injured and missing the remainder often the past 2 years. I am weary, but not as weary as someone like Mathews.

I think a lot people just assume he was hurt a lot because some times you would go weeks without hearing much from him. This was more of a product of him playing Buffalo his whole career.

Well I confess I don't watch a lot of Bills games so I pulled up a Spiller highlight reel on youtube. Dude has more 50+ yard runs to the house in 3 minutes and 44 seconds than Ingram has had in his entire career... And I'm a huge Ingram fan.

Just watched some too. Now I'm going to be disappointed if he leaves without a contract.

Would be huge for offense

Na I watched pretty much every Buffalo game the last few years and he gets banged up a good bit. Often tries to grit it out, but can't always do it. He is explosive when he plays though. My buddy is a big Bills fan, which is why I see a lot of their games, and he always complains that they never used him well. Didn't geat him in space enough. A lot of up the middle and cut to the outside type plays.

I think he'd greatly benefit from a team that knew how to use him and didn't expect him to be a workhorse

I agree. The only question I have is is he looking to be paid like a workhorse. If he turned down 4.5 per in buff, I'm not sure if he is feasible.

He may have turned it down bc it's Buffalo.

Also, there may be something to the fact that he wants to go to a team that will not lean on him to be an every down back. With some of the players that just retired, all under 30, you have to imagine that a lot of these guys are re-evaluating what is important. Maybe, hopefully, he is realizing he would be better off in a system where he can be the complimentary back.

So far the 2 teams I have seen him interested in are us and NE, both systems use multiple backs.

Spiller has talent but when have you seen him play to his potential for longer than five games?

That's what makes him cheap

And he also won't be the lead back here like he was asked to be in Buffalo

Payton would use him right... He fits the Sproles/Reggie position well, it looks like.

If he played to his potential, we'd be talking about a $5+ million running back

When he's healthy the guy is a straight up game changer. An X factor, he makes shite happen. I'll be severely disappointed if he doesn't leave NOLA with a contract

Spiller is inconsistent, but I will say this: the Bills absolutely had no idea how to use him.

You can't knock a guy for lack of production when he hardly ever touches the ball in space.

I hope he doesn't want a bucket of cash but to be on a contender.

Looked him up. 5'11" 200lbs
Career avg per carry of 5.0

Ran a 40 in 4.37
At Clemson ran the 100m in 10.22

Give him the third down back role and let him in the backfield with MI on occasion which could be fun.
He knows what his role would be on the Saints and it could extend his career.

Would like very much.
