Loads of injuries to key players, journeyman SFs, and a fluid roster are what coaches want?

Not on Demps. I don't care nor am I commenting on what Monty is doing. I'm simply saying that he has tried to cater to Monty.

I don't think it was. On that note, who picks the training staff and medical teams?

This is absolutely the best roster he has put together (by a decent margin). That doesn't mean Monty was given everything he wants to succeed. We can't truly judge Demps' roster without health, nor can we truly judge Monty's ability to manage that roster.

My biggest disappointment has been his inability to craft a defense around Davis/Asik. Thibs had very similar wings in Chicago around Noah and an albeit younger Asik and they had a DRating below 100. I expected to see our defense take a big leap this year after getting a true post presence on defense and hearing Monty talk about the changes while both were with Team USA.

+1

It's weird. It works with both on the floor, but falls apart completely when they are split up. Those Chicago defenses played notorious defender Carlos Boozer as much as the Pels play Anderson.

I just can't believe the talent or basketball IQ or whatever other excuse is out there sinks the defense so much. Philadelphia is a much better defense. Dallas is a much better defense. The Celtics and the Suns too. It's been better post ASG, but still 20th and w/o Davis and Holiday for much of that stretch. Something is rotten

OR, suggests Dell will have spent his entire tenure as GM of the Pels without having a say in who is the head coach of this franchise.

Usually the G.M. gets hired first who in turn goes for his own head coach. This part never really seemed fair to me for Demps. Monty was hired first and interviewed dell for the position if I remember correctly.

Monty has been dogshit. Dell can at least find decent players out of no where, but he has an equal chance of being replaced just like Monty.

Frick that. Fire Monty and let Dell hire Malone, or whoever he wants, and see if they can win together. If not, then let Demps go. But, give him a shot with his own coach.

Definitely think Dell should stay. I love his ability to add solid rotation guys without giving up anything. And I think his bigger moves get more heat than they deserve. I don't think he could have predicted the injuries over the past two years. Sure there's some redundancy with Jrue/Reke/Eg, but they each bring enough to the table that's different that it works when everyone's healthy as long as we can competent SF play from Cunningham/Q.

I would just hate for them to bring in a new GM who feels the blow things up. I feel like we're close to being a real contender (Monty's coaching not withstanding).
